Job Overview: The HVAC Service Technician will apply their technical skills and knowledge in performing diagnostic, service, and installation of ventilation, heating and cooling systems in residential and light commercial environments. Take all necessary steps to ensure that work is performed in accordance with relevant codes and to company standards.


Responsibilities
  • Perform residential and light commercial service calls to diagnose and resolve HVAC issues.
  • Maintains and repairs HVAC systems through troubleshooting issues among the current system in residential homes.
  • Conduct performance tests with specialized tools and adjust system settings to keep temperature comfortable.
  • Interprets drawings and specifications to determine layout requirements.
  • Reviews blueprints, building codes or specifications to determine work details and procedure.
  • Effectively communicates diagnostics results to clients and offers solutions for maintenance, repair, or replacement offers per the P.R.I.D.E system.
  • Submit all complete paperwork in an accurate and timely manner per standard operating processes.
  • Maintain and properly clean company issues service vehicle and issued assets (i.e. tablet, company phone, etc.).
  • Attend required weekly departmental meetings Tuesday-Friday.
  • Completes required training per company policy to develop technical acumen.
  • Participate in periodic inventory and weekly truck inspections.
  • Explains each service performed to the client each time a maintenance or repair is completed and ensures complete customer satisfaction.
  • Explains Club Membership Agreements to every client; maintains a 25% Club Membership conversion rate on repair clients.
  • Consistently performs to the department and individual level KPI’s outlined by leadership.
  • Adheres to and follows all safety policies, procedures and standards of performance and code of ethics.
  • Other duties, as assigned. 


Qualifications
  • Must have a minimum of two to three years of verifiable HVAC experience in a residential service and maintenance operation.
  • Must hold Universal EPA certification, preferred NATE or equivalent HVAC certification.
  • Knowledge of local and national HVAC codes.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings.
  • Basic change order cost estimating experience.
  • High school diploma/GED required. Associate degree preferred but not required
  • Self-starter, reliable, flexibility with hours
  • Strong client service skills
  • Technical aptitude
  • Bilingual a plus, not required
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license and successfully pass a criminal background check and drug test.


Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Ability to work in seasonal weather conditions, at times, working in frigid temperatures.
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl, including settings such as ladders, stairs, and crawlspaces.
  • Natural or corrected vision to see and focus for close, distance, peripheral vision with normal depth perception.
  • Frequent speaking, listening using a headset, sitting, use of hands/fingers across keyboard or mouse, handling other objects, long periods working at a computer.
  • Daily travel throughout the Northern Colorado region.
  • Minimal office environment exposure (i.e. training, organizational meetings, etc.)

$25 - $40 an hour
Eligible for commission.
