Legal Counsel - job 1 of 3

We are looking for our first Legal Counsel to help build our Legal and Regulatory function at Ribbon. In this role, you will be instrumental in defining our path forward as a company, structuring critical new partnerships, leading cross-functional initiatives, and supporting our rapidly growing company to power every care decision to be convenient, cost-effective, and high-quality.

What We’re Looking For in this Role: 

  • Fiery passion for combining legal, regulatory, and technology efforts with a close cross-functional collaboration across all of the teams at Ribbon
  • Proven aptitude in navigating and driving complex partnership structures, licensing agreements, mergers & acquisitions, and other growth agreements
  • Critical thinking and an immense curiosity to help define a new market in an existing industry by developing organizational expertise in law, regulatory, and partnerships
  • Strong desire to work with a complex data and quantitative product with an aptitude for navigating new data acquisition and transfer structures
  • A “no task is too small or too big” attitude to provide advice and support across the entire organization, ranging from internal matters to external partnerships and anything else that comes Ribbon’s way

Your day-to-day at Ribbon:

  • Build and lead Ribbon’s new Legal function by driving our core legal priorities forward, designing new processes for Ribbon, proactively identifying potential problems and devising creative solutions and supporting our rapidly growing company 
  • Advise the company across multiple legal subject-matter areas including, healthcare and regulatory compliance, contracting, employment, intellectual property, corporate governance, risk and audit, as well as various other legal issues that may arise 
  • Drive Ribbon’s continued position as an industry leading data company through best practices in data licensing, acquisition, and beyond
  • Serve as the principal legal advisor and manage outside counsel on any corporate transactions by supporting due diligence, negotiation, preparation of term sheets, definitive agreements, financing documentation and closing processes
