As part of the Legal Innovation & Strategy department, and reporting to the Assistant Director of Innovation - Americas, the Legal Innovation Advisor will evaluate, implement and report on innovative solutions and foster communication surrounding legal work experience and process/technology improvements. The successful applicant will develop firmwide relationships, identify opportunities and implement solutions to improve and innovate delivery of legal services to our firm and clients, with a focus on swift delivery of results.

Collaborates with practice groups, departments and clients to identify opportunities for innovation, and design solutions to meet their needs

Institutes project management and evaluation instruments, and provides regular department and firm updates

Supports/facilitates the implementation of systems and processes that improve service delivery

Educates all stakeholders on the value of holistic innovation

Eager to learn, test and implement best practices creating prompts for LLMs
Operational Leadership:

Evaluates toolkit performance and adoption and project success based on defined goals and outcomes

Assists in surfacing and supporting Firm’s strategy for innovation solutions, including practice-specific solutions, client-facing opportunities, or potential new lines of business

Prepares departmental response to Risk and IT standards; work with Risk Management and IT to streamline evaluation process

Plans and coordinate additional operations of the Department as necessary
Departmental Support & Collaboration Leadership:

Coordinates and delivers on intradepartmental collaborative efforts including outreach and training efforts, compliance and technical support

Supervises the prototyping and building of legal and practice solutions as necessary.

Provides presentations and demonstrations of Innovation Team products and solutions to lawyers and practice groups

Contributes to the assessment and selection of legal technology tools, data, and process initiatives

Proactively acquires new industry, data, technology, and process improvement knowledge and skills that promote the continuous improvement of the department

Actively participates in the development and review of policies and procedures that affect innovation

Fosters industry collaboration as directed by department leadership
Qualifications:
Education/Training/Certifications:
-
JD, MBA or 5 years of experience managing projects/products impacting attorneys, or customer experience/satisfaction initiatives in a law firm or legal department preferred

Project management or process management certification is a plus
-
Spanish language skills are a plus
-
Expertise or certification using contract drafting and review tools is a plus
-
Customer experience/satisfaction experience is a plus
Professional Experience:
- 3-5 years law firm or corporate legal department experience strongly preferred

Significant experience in contract drafting and review for a large law firm or corporate legal operations team strongly preferred
-
Experience implementing project and change management initiatives strongly preferred
- Knowledge of the workflow of transactional legal matters strongly preferred
-
Knowledge of contract lifecycle management strongly preferred
-
Working knowledge of process improvement principles, systems thinking and quality improvement frameworks preferred

Excellent presentation, storytelling, communication, written and listening skills required

Ability to work independently or collaboratively required
Technical Skills:

Proficiency in Microsoft Office products required

Proficiency in contract drafting, due diligence, attorney workflow, collaboration and intelligence solutions preferred
Physical Requirements:

Given the global nature of this role, there is often the need for off-hours (e.g., late evening and/or early morning) conference calls or video conferences
The typical New York pay scale for this position is between $170,000 and $211,000, in CA the typical pay scale for this position is between $156,000 and $194,000, although the actual wage or salary could be lower or higher if the candidate’s education, experience, skills and internal pay alignment are different from those specified.
