Associate General Counsel

We’re looking for a motivated Associate General Counsel to join our Legal Team.

Working in our New York City office, you’ll work directly with teams across the company, including Procurement, Vendor Management, Growth, and People Operations.

In this role you'll 

• Review, draft, and negotiate commercial contracts, such as SaaS agreements, professional services agreements, marketing agreements, and agency agreements

• Act as a strategic partner, providing valuable insights to internal stakeholders throughout the contract process

• Identify and mitigate legal risks associated with proposed transactions

• Serve as a legal resource for employment, data privacy and intellectual property matters 

• Develop, update, and maintain form agreements

• Contribute to the oversight of the company's contract management system 

• Assist with special projects, legal research, and other ad hoc support for the Legal team

What you'll need

• 3+ years of experience with commercial law, including complex commercial contracts

• Bachelor degree and JD degree from an accredited law school

• In-house experience with startups and/or tech companies is a benefit, as is global experience

• Familiarity with employment, data privacy and IP are all a plus

• Bar admission in good standing (New York preferred)

• Ability to work in our New York City office three times per week

Lemonade's US base salary range for this full-time position is $150,000 - $180,000 + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
