Assistant General Manager

ASSISTANT GENERAL MANAGER - Chino, CA

Lewis Apartment Communities, has an immediate opening for a professional Assistant General Manager to join the team at our beautiful and busy apartment community, Homecoming at The Preserve located in Chino, CA. 

Working under the guidance of the General Manager, you will assist in optimizing the net operating income of the property by assisting in supervising (or performing as necessary) all aspects of the community, its staff, and all operations, thereby maintaining an attractive community and a quality living environment for residents.  

Some of your duties will include:

  • Consistent management of the Leasing, Maintenance, Resident Services, Event and Maintenance staff
  • Managing timely reporting and submission of AP, AR, Final account statements (FAS) and any/all pertinent reports or site accounting needs to ensure accuracy and timeliness through management of staff and assisting with duties
  • Assist in hiring, motivating, monitoring, and rewarding your team 
  • Responsible for being a stop gap for all customer complaints, FAS inquiries or resident needs prior to being escalated to General Manager
  • Responsible for following up with and reputation or feedback surveys received to ensure good customer relations and follow up
  • Actively spot checks and audits resident files for accuracy and 100% audit compliance
  • Assist with any special corporate requests or feasibility studies from upper management
  • Walking your community regularly to ensure asset preservation, safety, curb appeal and resident satisfaction
  • Working with MS Office (Word, Excel), OneSite, YieldStar and other property management software

Note: These responsibilities are a general summary of the job duties performed. Other duties may be required, as needed. 

The right candidate will have 4+ years of proven property management experience. Understanding of landlord and tenant law, Fair Housing, and MS Office is required. Your management background should include all aspects of operations and staff management, including budgets, coaching, marketing, vendor relations, etc.
