Job Summary:We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to oversee General Ledger (GL) Accounting, Accounts Payable (AP), and Accounts Receivable (AR) operations. This role will manage a team of four accounting professionals, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance in all financial processes. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of accounting principles, and a proven track record in financial management.Key Responsibilities:Team Leadership:• Manage and mentor a team of four accounting professionals, providing guidance, performance feedback, and development opportunities.• Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.General Ledger Accounting:• Oversee the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are recorded correctly and timely.• Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.• Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).Accounts Payable (AP):• Supervise the AP function, ensuring timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices and payments.• Monitor and manage cash flow related to payables, including payment schedules and vendor relationships.• Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies.Accounts Receivable (AR):• Oversee the AR function, ensuring accurate invoicing, collections, and cash application processes.• Manage customer relationships related to billing and collections.• Analyze and report on AR aging and bad debt reserves.Financial Reporting & Compliance:• Prepare and review financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.• Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis.• Support internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.Process Improvement:• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy in accounting operations.• Leverage technology to streamline GL, AP, and AR processes.Qualifications:• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.• Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3-5 years in a supervisory or management role.• Strong knowledge of GAAP or IFRS and financial reporting requirements.• Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks).• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments.• Experience in process improvement and implementing accounting best practices.
