We are working with a global non-profit with a wonderful mission, seeking a Controller who will be instrumental in managing the day-to-day financial operations of the organization and ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and non-profit regulations. This role will ensure that data is accurate, timely, and complete.Key Responsibilities:• Work with the controller to oversee the accounting function, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.• Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements.• Prepare financial reports for management and board of directors.• Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures, and ensure compliance with GAAP and non-profit regulations.• Help manage the organization's relationships with external auditors, tax consultants, and other financial service providers.• Provide leadership and support to the finance team, ensuring high levels of motivation and productivity.• Manage the software systems, ensuring that data is accurate, up-to-date, and easily accessible.• Provide training and support to staff on the use of financial systems and processes.• Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure financial processes are aligned with organizational goals and objectives.• Qualifications:• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.• 7+ years of experience in non-profit accounting, including management of financial systems and staff.• CPA or similar certification preferred.• Strong knowledge of GAAP and non-profit regulations.• Experience with an ERP software• Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities, and work effectively under pressure.• Commitment to the mission and values of the organization.Our non-profit organization also offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance, retirement plan options, paid time off, and professional development opportunities.To learn more about this role in New York, NY and for immediate consideration for this position, please apply directly and email your resume in a Word document to renee.blady@LHH.comEqual Opportunity Employer/Veterans/DisabledTo read our Candidate Privacy Information Statement, which explains how we will use your information, please visit https://www.lhh.com/candidate-privacy/The Company will consider qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.
