Estimator

The ideal candidate will be responsible for appropriately evaluating the cost of a project, and evaluating the cost to take on that project. The candidate will be handle the preparation and review of assigned roadway construction and/or asphalt paving estimate packages; implementing department standards and procedures while ensuring the accuracy and completeness of estimate packages. Primarily performs construction activities involving asphalt paving/resurfacing, bridge construction, earthwork/grading, roadway construction/rehabs, and highway works.Responsibilities• Maintain knowledge of competitive advantages in the industry to aid bidding process• Resolve cost discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information• Obtain accurate quotes for materials and systems to establish accurate cost estimates• Read/review plans, proposals, specifications, RFP's, and any other pertinent project related documents• Prepare reporting and analysis pertinent to estimating• Assess project exposures/construction risks and appropriately analyze costQualifications• 4+ years' of construction estimating experience• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field• Experience working for a general contractor• Project experience between $1M-$25M
