Overview:The Purchasing Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring efficient and compliant procurement processes within the organization. This position involves supporting various departments by guiding them through purchasing procedures, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring adherence to purchasing policies. The ideal candidate possesses strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of procurement principles. This is a Contract to Hire opportunity, located near EvanstonResponsibilities:• Guide departments through purchasing procedures, including purchase order processing, vendor registration, RFP/bid document preparation, and contract administration.• Ensure compliance with purchasing policies and procedures, including M/W/D/EBE goals.• Prepare reports, recommendations, and responses to Freedom of Information requests.• Attend meetings with vendors and answer questions regarding RFP/bid documents.• Provide general administrative support, including front office duties and assistance with various projects.• Analyze purchasing data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.• Develop and implement special projects as needed.Qualifications:• Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field.• Must have experience working within a Government entity• Experience in purchasing or procurement.• Strong understanding of purchasing principles and procedures.• Excellent organizational and time management skills.• Attention to detail and accuracy.• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and procurement software.Job Details:• Contract to Hire• Monday-Friday• Pay is $30-$39 an hour, depending on experienceIf you are interested, please apply and submit your resume.Benefit offerings include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits, and 401K plan.
