Senior Software Engineer, Backend
Life360 is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join their team and work on building the next evolution of their backend services. The ideal candidate will have experience in backend and Cloud code, be proficient in microservices and horizontally scalable architectures, and have a strong background in high-scale, low-latency systems.
Skills
- Proficient in microservices and horizontally scalable architectures
- Experience with high-scale, low-latency systems
- Ability to deploy and maintain systems, ideally with Kubernetes
- Experience with AWS, databases like MySql, and languages like Java, Python, PHP
Responsibilities
- Create new Spring Java microservices to break down existing PHP monolith or support new product features
- Create new API gateways for external integration
- Horizontally scale the system to handle another 10+ billion events per day
- Monitor health, suggest improvements, and deploy own services
- Mentor other developers and build technical specs with Staff engineers
- Handle on-call rotation, address live incidents, and help Test Engineers automate validation
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or similar quantitative field or equivalent industry experience
