Business Development Representative

As a Lightcast Business Development Representative, you’ll play a key role in generating new business opportunities for the company and be a part of building a world-class sales development team at a category defining tech company. As the glue between marketing and sales this role is responsible for carrying the baton from inbound marketing leads to sales opportunity as well as contributing to new pipeline generation via outbound efforts. 


Major Responsibilities:
  • Drive interest in Lightcast products by engaging prospective customers through cold calling, emailing, and other outreach channels.
  • Follow up on inbound marketing leads, guiding them through the sales funnel and scheduling discovery calls with Account Executives.
  • Build relationships with prospects to uncover pain points, qualify their interest, and ensure a smooth handoff to the sales team.
  • Provide actionable feedback to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the BDR function and overall sales process.
  • Track and report on key metrics, successes, and insights from daily outbound activities.
  • Collaborate across teams to gather and share best practices for messaging and outreach.


Education and Experience:
  • 0–1 years of professional experience in sales, marketing, business development, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Salesforce, HubSpot, ZoomInfo, Apollo, and other CRM or prospecting platforms is a strong plus.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with proven ability to write, speak, and listen effectively.
  • Willingness to take initiative and contribute to the ongoing development and optimization of the BDR function.
  • A self-starter with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, hyper-growth environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, adapt to new challenges, and embrace a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field preferred but not required.
