The Role:

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Corporate Counsel Advisor is responsible for all legal matters and supporting the legal function. You will work closely with opposing counsel and Linqia’s Sales, Product, and Operations teams to mitigate risk and ensure timely execution of customer contracts.  This role is also responsible for general corporate matters, including stock grants, board resolutions, and working with outside counsel. 

Responsibilities

  • Review, draft, and negotiate customer agreements, including online advertising and agency agreements, insertion orders, licensing agreements, and terms of service
  • Work with opposing counsel and internal business resources to identify and mitigate risk with Fortune 1000 clients.
  • Provide strategic business and legal advice to develop a long-term approach to our relationships with key partners.
  • Advise the team on intellectual property, licensing, privacy, digital advertising, clearance, and other legal issues relevant to content creation and distribution. 
  • Assist with corporate, M&A, benefits, insurance, privacy, intellectual property, litigation, and other legal matters as required.

Qualifications

  • Law degree from a top tier law school; admitted to practice and active member of a state bar, preferably California.
  • Knowledgeable of legal issues relating to online media, social media, and/or digital advertising (including FTC guidelines and IAB standards)
  • A proficient self-starter in drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts with a positive and energetic attitude. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; 25% of this role will negotiate directly with our customers' legal teams.
  • Minimum of 6 years as a practicing corporate attorney in a top law firm or in-house legal department
  • Start-up and ad/mar-tech experience preferred
  • Currently located in the San Francisco Bay Area and can come into the office 2x a week
  • Looking for a part time role working 16-24 hours a week
