LIS Project Manager

Position Summary:
The LIS Project Manager is an experienced project manager responsible for one or more workstreams within the Laboratory department. This position supports the Senior LIS Project Manager and Laboratory Information Systems Manager.

Qualifications:
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Clinical Laboratory Science or Computer Science

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Five (5) Laboratory Information Systems Project Management. AndPosition requires experience in complex project management, complex problem solving, leadership, vendor and contract management and exceptional communication skills.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Demonstrated ability to actively and successfully manage highly complex projects. Demonstrated leadership abilities and business skills as well as the ability to effectively communicate, resolve multi-faceted issues and limit variance.

Essential Functions:

  • Oversee one or more workstreams as part of the Laboratory Information Standardization project.
  • Responsible for recognizing opportunities for improvement and developing plans for review and deployment. Also responsible for moving the project forward in a time and resource efficient manner.
  • Facilitate project discussions with site based and system leadership in addition to the project work teams to ensure that all issues are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Prepare weekly status reports and regularly meet with Senior LIS ECHO Project Manager, PMO and Laboratory Leadership to provide updates.
  • Responsible for the documentation and escalation of any project related issues to ensure they are promptly resolved.
  • Work closely with project work teams to identify any additional resources that are needed and communicate the requests to Lab leadership and PMO as necessary to secure the resource.
  • Provide project workstream oversight, perform quality audits, identify training needs, coordinate staff training, mentor project managers and SMEs, and manage aspects of the project portfolio.
  • Work closely with other PMs throughout the project to manage risk by analyzing, identifying and mitigating risk factors; seek ways to improve project performance and bring value to the organization.
  • Oversees the work performed within the assigned project workstream engaged in standardizing the Laboratory Information System.
  • Handles all formal communications, status updates and escalations / resource requests on behalf of the work teams.
  • Acts as conduit for communication between PMO, IT, LIS, All Lab Sites and Epic teams.
