Engineering Design Tech - Roadway Design

We are looking for talented Engineering Design Technician to join our Roadway Design team in Edwardsville or St. Louis. Our Transportation Department consists of a diverse group of talented civil engineers and design professionals who are involved in a variety of projects including designing roadways and bridges for various local public agencies and state DOT’s.

Lochmueller Group is a regional engineering consulting firm with an emphasis on infrastructure.  We provide multi-disciplined services for a variety of public agencies and private entities, including transportation design; water resources design; environmental analysis & permitting; construction engineering & inspection; traffic engineering & transportation planning; surveying; and land acquisition & appraisal. Our transportation design team offers a variety of services, but most of our work involves roadway and bridge design for various local public agencies and state DOT’s.

• Produce drawings in Civil 3D for projects pertaining to design plans for road, bridge, site development, right of way, etc.
• Read and interpret schematic and construction plans.
• Perform quantity calculations (trigonometry) as directed.
• Perform related work as required.

• High School Diploma/GED with specialized training in design or another closely related field; Associate’s degree in a design related field is preferred.
• Proficiency with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD
• Experience developing and/or reviewing utility relocation designs is a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work individually or as part of a team
