Responsibilities:
The Logistics Center Continuing Care Assistant will work Full Time, Various Shifts and Weekends and will register direct admission and hospital transfer patients so that bed placement can occur, and an active patient account is available prior to arrival, to accommodate Physician office order entry.
  • The Logistics Center Continuing Care Assistant will update/correct insurance information; notifies appropriate departments to ensure accurate financial data is available.
  • The Logistics Center Continuing Care Assistant will actively communicate with multidisciplinary healthcare team (Primary Nurse, nurse manager, C3, etc.)
  • The Logistics Center Continuing Care Assistant will communicate potential admissions to facilitate system wide planning by entering bed request in Care Logistics software.
Qualifications:

Bassett Healthcare Network follows the New York State and New York State Department of Health COVID-19 vaccine mandates for healthcare workers. This mandate requires COVID-19 vaccinations for personnel working for or on behalf of our hospitals and nursing homes. The New York State mandate allows for medical exemptions and religious accommodations, when appropriate. All candidates who accept an offer from Bassett Healthcare Network will be required to show proof of vaccination as required by New York State.


Education/Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience:

  • 2 years of experience working with regulatory programs, administrative/secretarial in a professional setting, or patient scheduling/registration experience required.
  • Associates degree or higher will waive the experience requirement.

Licensure/Certificates:

  • None.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills for communicating with patients, physicians, volunteers, insurance companies, payors, and other members of the interdisciplinary health care team.
  • Proficiency with required computer systems for completion of duties and including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and excellent spelling and grammar skills.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple activities while working in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to function as a self- starter and an active team member.

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires long periods of concentration and ability to multi-task.
  • Requires ability both to be mobile and to sit for long periods.
