Logistics Specialist

Position will be responsible for driving strategic topics as it relates togeneral cargo and building operational processes supporting the procurement,material management and order management functions in the Grid Technologiesbusiness in Richland, MS location. The logistics specialist will supportcarrier interactions, estimation, planning, execution, reporting, analysis andimplementation of digitalization initiatives.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Create a culture oflogistics awareness with a focus on cost / lead time optimization, toolimplementation and adaptation and impacts of decisions.
• Strategically supportGrid Technology US business with logistics knowledge and concepts
• Support the implementationand utilization of the SE LOG corporate tools and roll out of thedigitalization roadmap within the GT - Richland functions.
• Work with internalcustomer to explore new logistics opportunities including modes, carriers, andequipment type
• Support development andimprovement of logistics and transportation processes and tools
• Provide market researchand cost forecasting to internal customers; observe domestic and internationaltransportation market trends and assist in incorporating new service providersand/or technologies into the logistics portfolio
• Identify the area ofimprovement to ensure continuous process improvement.

What You Bring

• 6-10 years ofprogressive logistics and transportation experience in supporting a globalorganization, or project forwarder/carrier
• Bachelor’s degree
• Demonstrated success anddepth of experience in logistics project management, preparation, and executionof all modes of transportation
• Demonstrated experiencewith domestic and international logistics regulations, security, and safetystandards
• Demonstrated ability toprioritize tasks and manage time effectively
• Demonstrated ability towork within teams
• In-depth knowledge andfamiliarity with transportation and logistics-related documents to includepreferential trade agreement documentation, letters of credit, manifests, ratecards, ocean bills of lading and AWBs.
• Demonstrated ability tocommunicate clearly and concisely information or data to non-technicalassociates, peers, and management
• Demonstrated knowledgein INCOTERMS and how they apply/impact logistics
• Experience in SAP,MercuryGate/Transport Management System, Tableau and similar digital platforms
• Experience transactingand communicating with general cargo logistics service providers
• Self-driven andresourceful to achieve goals independently as well as work well in groups
• Attention to detail andflexibility to adjust and thrive in an environment with changing requirements,schedules and priorities for multiple projects or assignments
• Innovation, creativity,willingness to share and explore new ideas
