Requisition Summary
This is a new and unique opportunity to work across multiple disciplines in the Materials organization and have a flexible schedule that supports both in-office collaborations as well as work-from-home opportunity as needed. You must be capable of making pivotal decisions which will impact truck production and financial goals. This role offers you the experience to gain full perspective and experience in supply chain management for:
  • Core Hours Friday to Monday 6:30 – 3:00PM, with flexibility for early start on Saturday and Sunday.
  • You’ll command all inbound and outbound materials for production.
  • Expedite priority material from order to arrival.
  • Support weekend expedites and recovery.
  • Learn the fundamentals for Supply Chain Management and invoicing.
You will have power when you speak to carriers. Carriers who know the PACCAR/Kenworth name and respond to your needs. With great power comes great responsibility as the plant looks to you to get material to the plant in time and under budget. This role might just turn you into a Logistics Master. You will coordinate and perform a wide variety of Traffic Department functions requiring independent judgment and moderate supervision.
Job Functions / Responsibilities
  • Expedites inbound shipments and maintains shortage system information.
  • Maintains status reports and files.
  • Tracks inbound truckload shipments.
  • Interacts with various Materials, Plant, and Management personnel to create and implement solutions to ensure inbound material arrives to meet needs of plant.
  • Prepares bills of lading, air bills, and export documents to Canada.
  • Maintains and utilizes the PACCAR Transportation System in managing inbound freight including interaction with the PACCAR Transportation System Planners.
  • Assists in creating and/or resolving Supplier Compliance issues.
  • Assists with clerical functions within department.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain and update ETA in EWI with the most up-to-date information.
  • Interacts with weekend Material Handling personnel for up-to-date trailer information and ETA.
  • Maintains status reports, Majors updates, Trailer Manager updates and files.
  • Determine production requirements for manufactured or purchased parts by reviewing sales or engineering releases, historical data, shortage or exception reports, and other information.
  • Issue purchase orders to Kenworth suppliers to meet engineering change order (ECN) requirements; replace non-conforming or lost parts to meet internal requirements.
  • Maintain proper inventory levels based on current inventory, historical usage, and forecast demand.
  • Coordinate and manage supply base with regards to delivery, expediting, purchase orders, inventory, invoicing/pricing/receiving discrepancies, (unmatched receipts, supplier payment system, etc.), packaging, ongoing programs, and other related functions.
  • Monitor quality, service, and delivery issues. Take corrective action, as necessary.
  • Communicate issue/insight to Division Planner or Corporate Purchasing as appropriate.
  • Resolve bill-of-material and on-hand discrepancies through research with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Materials personnel.
  • Complete transactions (ITP) to ensure integrity of on-hand balances.
  • Resolve supplier packaging problems.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Materials Management, Operations or other related field required.
  • Proven critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-starter able to work with minimal supervision in both team and individual environment.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in manufacturing support or customer service, preferably in Heavy Truck/Automotive require.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively with a wide variety of people and functions.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong basic math skills; analytical; detailed and organized work habits.
  • Excellent negotiation skills, including conflict management.
  • Proficient PC skills including MS Office required.
  • Experience with mainframe business systems.
  • Demonstrated, strong ethical foundation.

At PACCAR, we value talent and promote growth and development. We carefully consider numerous compensation factors, including your education, training, or experience. The salary range for this position is $72,200 - $108,000 annually. Additionally, this role is eligible for a full range of benefit options listed above.
