Intellectual Property and Licensing Program Manager

Join the Richard P. Feynman Center for Innovation (FCI) to build strategies and a team to manage the intellectual property (IP) and licensing portfolio at the Los Alamos National Laboratory. This position will manage the evaluation, protection, and licensing of technology inventions and software across all Laboratory science and engineering programs, to expand commercial transition in support of U.S. national security missions.FCI is seeking a motivated, resourceful, individual with strong technical and interpersonal skills, to learn more about FCI visit our web page. In this role, you will guide a team of licensing professionals to execute the various functions related to IP management and licensing. IP management includes patent and copyright oversight in collaboration with the Office of General Counsel for the Laboratory's software portfolio, all technical inventions and resulting patents, and reporting as required by DOE/NNSA. The IP and Licensing team collaborates across FCI to review new inventions and ensure oversight of the IP from cradle-to-grave. In addition, this position leads the Laboratory's licensing efforts by assessing the commercial viability of inventions and software-related technologies, evaluating the business opportunity, facilitating licensing partnerships and mechanisms, and overseeing agreement development in alignment with Lab Agenda priorities. This includes oversight of royalty plans, budgets and reporting. Overall, the IP and Licensing Program Manager leads the team to collaborate with and support a network of science and engineering staff and management inside the Laboratory, and technology-based companies and other partners outside of the Laboratory, in order to advance technology deployment and commercialization.
