DescriptionJob Title Operations Support Specialist 4Location Los Alamos, NM, USOrganization Name A-1/Information Systems and ModelingMinimum Salary 101700Maximum Salary 168200What You Will DoThe Information Systems and Modeling Group (A-1) provides information and systems modeling to support national leaders responsible for making decisions when threats occur and to assist them in mitigating threats before they occur. You will assist our dynamic team of scientists in technical projects supporting real world security issues, including quantum computing, disease modeling, advanced applied data science and critical infrastructure modeling, national security information systems, and more! We are looking for a driven team member that contributes to our group by providing technical, project and operational management knowledge, the ability to interact with many stakeholders both externally and across the laboratory, and who exhibits excellent communication skills. This position requires someone who is a self-started and successfully handles multiple, constantly changing tasks with tight deadlines simultaneously.The successful candidate will have the ability to develop requirements and work collaboratively with service providers, internal and external to the laboratory, to implement solutions. The selected candidate will be responsible for logistics, scheduling, coordinating with visitors/attendees, providing day-of logistics, interfacing with federal sponsors and other high-level officials, line management, program offices and ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and policies.What You NeedMinimum Job Requirements:Project Management & Logistics• Provide expert input to and oversee various administrative and process- based functions in conjunction with or in support of operational program compliance, including planning, prioritizing, and scheduling of work activities, budgeting, cost tracking, reporting, resource planning, and in placing procurements.• Ability to coordinate project-specific needs.Planning• Experience with the development of detailed plans to manage processes, scope, quality, efficiency, risk to deliverables, communications, and professional responsibility.Self-Motivation• Be punctual and operate in an environment with changing priorities and strict deadlines.• Ability to take initiative and proactively identify areas for improvement, demonstrating a strong work ethic, and consistently delivering high quality work.Teaming/Communication• Ability to work effectively, conscientiously, and professionally in a multidisciplinary and collaborative team environment.• Must possess excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.• Demonstrated ability to employ strict discretion in sensitive situations, excellent oral and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to interact effectively with all levels of laboratory and external personnel.Customer Service• Provides high-level customer service to internal and external customers while overseeing proper engagement with collaborative and support entities to ensure end-to-end delivery of tasks.• Ability to serve as a liaison between the Laboratory and various governmental agencies.Safety & Security• Knowledge and implementation of required safety, security and quality assurance practices.• Demonstrated ability to interact with senior personnel to ensure hazards and controls are identified, addressed, and implemented in procedures and operations.Clearance• Ability to obtain a DOE Q/SCI clearance, which requires U.S. citizenshipEducation/Experience: Requires a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution and 8 years of directly related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.Desired Qualifications:• Expert Institutional Knowledge: Knowledge of government, institutional, and organizational policies, practices, procedures, including policy and procedure development, implementation, regulations, and enforcement.• Expert knowledge of Laboratory business and operations systems and standard software applications.• Active TS/Q and SCI clearances.Work Location : The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. Dependent upon the position, additional authorization to access classified information may be required, which may or may not be available to dual citizens. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing. Although New Mexico and other states have legalized the use of marijuana, use and possession of marijuana remain illegal under federal law.
