Three weeks after fiveyears of year-round paid service.Paid Holidays: Up to 13 days.NOTE: Positions in this job classification may be offered on a 10 or 11month basis - salary and paid time off for 10 or 11 month positions will beadjusted accordingly.Job Duties/Responsibilities The full class description with all job duties/responsibilities may be foundat the following site: https://www.lausd.org/Page/18661#NavI .SOME TYPICAL DUTIES MAY INCLUDE:Provides direct service on the phone or in-person to employees, retirees,parents/guardians, students, and the public by answering routinequestions and providing general information pertaining to an assigneddepartment or office.Identifies appropriate resources in response to questions related topayroll, health and medical benefits, worker’s compensation,assignments, garnishments, services related to students, or generalDistrict policies and procedures.Utilizes District application systems to research information and to inputand maintain data.Minimum Requirements ATTENTION: Per the class description, this job class requires former orcurrent employment with the District of at least 22 months of full-timework, or equivalent length of service and hours; the role or roles musthave been (1) in an LAUSD school or LAUSD office with (2) clericalexperience performing customer service activities.ENTRANCE QUALIFICATIONSEducation: Graduation from high school or evidence of equivalenteducational proficiency. An Associate of Arts degree from a recognizedtwo year college or 60 semester or equivalent quarter units from arecognized college or university is preferred.Experience: Two years of clerical experience performing customerservice activities in a District school or office. Experience in interpreting,applying, and explaining District policies and practices, rules andregulations, and procedures is preferable.Employment Selection Process Please be sure to include correspondence from @lausd.net as anapproved sender so that messages aren't accidentally placed into yourspam/junk e-mail folder.The employment selection process for Office Technician consists of acomputerized performance assessment, computerized data entry testand a scored questionnaire.TESTING PROCESS:The computer-based assessment is a common assessment for severalclassification within the clerical series. Therefore, if you have applied andrecently tested for this position and/or other clerical positions and havenot met the 30 days re-take policy, you may not be able to re-test. Wewill certify your prior scores. Even if you take the test, the scores will beinvalid.The computerized performance assessment (Skill Check) will assessyour proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook and computerizeddata entry skills. There is an additional test computerized test componentthat will assess customer service skills.You will be invited to take these assessments online and testing will beconducted remotely and all applications will be required to submit aCandidate Confidentiality Form prior to testing. Failure to submit theseforms before the given deadline will result in the withdrawal of yourapplication from the selection process.Your test scores from these assessments will be banked and used forfinal calculation.You must receive PASSING SCORES on all TEST MODULES, for all theassessments, to remain in the selection process.Candidates who receive a failing score on any test module will NOT beeligible to move forward in the selection process.Note: if you have existing scores for this assessment that are less than ayear old, at the time of final scoring, those scores are valid as well andcould be applied as your final score if they are higher.The scored questionnaire, which you will be completing as part of theapplication process, will be worth 100% of a candidate's overall scoreand will be used to rank order candidates on the resulting eligibility list.Therefore, when completing the questionnaire, please make sure youprovide detailed responses to all the questions/statements.If you are successful on all the assessments and meet the minimumeducation requirement, you will be added to the eligibility list providedyou submit the High School diploma or equivalent, or an Associate ofArts degree or equivalent units, when requested during the recruitmentprocess.The hiring departments have requested that we proceed with theselection process in a quick and timely manner.
