About the role
As Director of Ecommerce Marketplaces, your mission is to build a profitable and growing business for Lovepop on Amazon. You are accountable for defining the long term strategy, maintaining a 18 month strategic roadmap, and actively managing the P&L of the business unit. You own all aspects of the customer experience on the platform including the product marketing on the listings, the brand store page experience, and the content shared through advertising and social initiatives. You own all the executional channel management including but not limited to catalog management, advertising management, everyday campaign planning, seasonal campaign planning, new product introductions, and inventory management. You partner with the product development team, merchandising, and Lovepop.com marketing teams to build an Amazon strategy that integrates into the broader goals of the organization. The role reports directly to the Lovepop CMO.
Accountabilities - Own Amazon marketplace strategy and financial planCreate a three-year vision that establishes a differentiated, sustainable, profitable, and growing business for Lovepop within the Amazon marketplace. Establish quarterly objectives with an 18 month view to build the capabilities and execute the strategy that achieves the vision. Build and maintain the annual financial plan that defines the expected financial results based upon current performance and investments being made towards the vision. Own reporting on the strategy, execution, and results across different stakeholders including the executive team and the board of directors. Own all resources allocated to the channel and be accountable for their ROI as well as the roadmap for ongoing investment.
- Own all facets of Amazon marketplace operations and planning Define accountabilities, processes, tools, and systems used to manage the Amazon business. Ensure the catalog is managed and optimized, new products are launched and settle at the top, advertising is effective and efficient, our everyday business thrives, and we capitalize on our seasonal opportunities with flawless planning and execution. Our account health, operational execution, brand registry, and inventory management are managed proactively where we can and with same-day responsiveness where we can't.
- Own collaboration and cross-functional roadmapping to maximize the Lovepop opportunity and integrate our marketplaces strategy into the overarching Lovepop strategy.Partner with the product development and merchandising organization to optimize the assortment and price-pack architecture across marketplaces and other channels. Ensure products are well positioned to succeed in the marketplace. Partner with the marketing organization to align campaigns, strategy, messaging, and creatives across all Lovepop touch-points and in accordance to a centralized calendar gaining consistency for the customer and efficiencies from a centralized set of resources. Partner with the operations and technology teams to ensure Amazon SLA's are operationally achieved, there is a roadmap in place for incremental opportunities, and ongoing investments consider the needs and advantages of the marketplace.
Qualifications - 8+ years of work experience
- 5+ years of Amazon marketplace leadership experience specifically for one or more brands in a 3P environment.
- Experience with revenue and advertising forecasting and P&L management experience.
- Experience in strategic planning. Has built a strategic roadmap, has delivered progress against it, and has delivered profitable growth.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills including building and presenting business strategy, analysis, and insights.
- Strong financial, merchandising, and planning analysis skills. Fluency with excel and managing a large SKU catalog (3000+ products). Fluency with BI dashboards.
- Skilled process builder and delegator.
- Incredible collaborator. Demonstrated ability to partner with peers and other stakeholders to build strategy, solve problems, and drive results.
- Independent owner and builder. Self-motivated to own their accountabilities.
$145,000 - $165,000 a year
The expected base range for the role is listed above. This role is eligible for bonus and/or commission payments, assuming targets are met at plan values. Actual compensation will depend on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualifications, location, and other job-related reasons.
