We are currently seeking a Senior Urban Designer to join our Raleigh office. You are a proven problem solver with an entrepreneurial spirit to pioneer 21st century large-scale mixed-use projects throughout the Southeast. As a member and a key leader of the Urban Environments practice, the Senior Urban Designer is an experienced, highly motivated, and multi-talented architect skilled in urbanism, large-scale mixed-use building types, project feasibility and early-stage design ideation.

A Day in the Life:

  • Lead large scale mixed use (LSMU) projects across the firm including feasibility studies, master plans, redevelopment plans, concept designs and schematic designs while serving as the primary contact with our clients
  • Responsible for project management including deliverables, budgets, schedules, programs and leading your team members Create visual presentations and communications for client interactions
  • Coordinate contracts as well as billing and accounts receivables with the business team
  • Engagement with fantastic design team members
  • Leadership development and mentoring across sectors, markets, offices and the firm

Your Strengths as a Senior Urban Designer:

  • Technical production skills are necessary and require a demonstrated ability to effectively produce design
  • Proficiency in Revit is preferred with consideration for Rhino, Sketchup, etc.
  • Experience in Adobe Suite and rendering software (Enscape, Lumion, etc.)
  • Understanding of relevant codes such as state building codes, ANSI 117.1, BOMA
  • Experience in LSMU building types as well as in master planning
  • Possession of a strong moral and ethical responsibility to the principles of sustainability
  • Strong organization, multi-tasking and time management skills
  • Strong design, graphic, and presentation skills
  • Understanding of design and procurement processes

What You Bring To The Table:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Architecture or equivalent field of study
  • 10+ years of experience, with 3+ in direct leadership of projects and teams
