The Senior Executive role will sit within the London Stock Exchange (LSE) and Turquoise Research & Analytics team.
The LSE and Turquoise Research & Analytics team supports both the Primary Markets and Equities Trading divisions, including their business development, business management and product teams, as well as wider partners and customers who are utilising data related to primary market activities and secondary market trading. The team also publish external reports on the LSE website as well as providing reports to industry bodies and regulators as well as to London listed issuers and LSE/Turquoise members directly.
As part of the LSEG Markets division, the Global Primary Markets team spearheads origination of capital across the debt, equity and funds asset classes, helping companies to grow and scale.
The role requires analysis & understanding of primary markets data to support business development activities and promote the London Stock Exchange as the venue of choice for our clients and partners.
Key Responsibilities
Analysis of global capital markets, with specific emphasis on deals data (for example IPOs), equity performance, valuations, and shareholder analysis
Compile pitch materials and analytics for Business Development managers to use in attracting new equity, fixed income, and investment fund listings to the London Stock Exchange
Draft briefing notes on companies, markets, and investment themes for senior executives across LSEG
Develop the London Stock Exchange’s position as a thought leader through the publication of research notes and blogs on our Issuer Services SPARK platform and lead research projects to enhance our understanding of primary markets in London and other key regions
Apply and analyse data from multiple sources (e.g. Refinitiv Workspace, Lipper, Bloomberg, Dealogic), in order to provide high quality support, including crafting proactive insightful analysis for our customers and partners
Efficiently build and run reports derived from sophisticated datasets to advance the Primary Markets and Equities Trading team’s core business objectives
Complete analysis for product and policy initiatives to continue to enhance the competitiveness of UK capital markets
Collaborate with other teams both in LSE Plc and the Colombo Capital Markets division, reflecting our core LSEG values.
Candidates with the following background are preferred:
Bachelors degree (or equivalent) in Economics, Finance or related fields
Previous work experience (2 years+) in financial services, corporate finance, equity research, or deal advisory
Excellent knowledge of MS Office products with sophisticated Excel and PowerPoint usage
Experience utilising other Business Intelligence tools such Power BI / Tableau would be a plus
Knowledge of primary and secondary markets data. Exposure to equity or fixed income markets is helpful
Excellent numerical ability, experience in analysis of data and reports
The ability to adapt to unexpected changes and work independently with excellent time management and effective task prioritisation
A confident communicator, able to interact with contacts at all levels both internally and externally
Demonstratable ability to prepare high quality presentation materials that are well structured, persuasive and concise
Committed to high standards of excellence with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
An interest in financial markets is critical
Candidates who are following or have completed CFA and CISI have an added advantage
