Senior Technical Project Manager

We’re seeking a motivated Senior Technical Project Manager to support our teams as they help build a revolutionary ‘lighter than air’ flight vehicle in Sunnyvale, CA. We believe in fast-cycle development and approach to flight systems development with the motto “build a little, test a little, learn a lot.” This position will allow you to develop your adaptability and strong relationship building skills through all phases of development.


Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage project plans, scope, and schedules with SME
  • Execute each phase of the project, including overseeing day-to-day technical operations
  • Interact with stakeholders to define project objectives and communicate regularly
  • Hold regular meetings to maintain status on tasks and establish and train teams on technical processes and strategies
  • Proactively identify and mitigate schedule risks to avoid issues
  • Use time management skills to design project schedules and plan for deadlines
  • Develop project documentation to track progress and milestones
  • Plan, schedule, and allocate/coordinate company resources, including people and processes
  • Ensure the project is progressing as planned and on schedule 


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and equivalent work experience,  in Engineering or a related technical field
  • Familiarity with project management software 
  • Exceptional leadership skills
  • Impeccable organizational skills and acute attention to detail
  • Self-starter who can handle multiple projects with competing priorities with minimal direction
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to provide professional presentations to leadership
  • Ability to work within a complex and fluid, fast-paced, demanding work environment
  • Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with internal business functions globally as well as external advisors
  • This role is expected to:  perform job duties onsite M to F at both Ca locations, communicate cross-functionally between engineering and operations staff, and work with remote staff across our Nevada and Ohio offices


Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong technical background in software, electrical, and/or GNC development, testing, and integration
  • Experience working on software for Flight Control Systems
  • Experience developing safety-critical software and its respective standards
  • Familiarity with diverse tools and technologies used for the development, testing, and analysis of DO-178C software
  • Familiarity with the aviation & aerospace industry, and associated regulatory requirements
  • PMP, CAPM, or similar

The base salary range for this role is $120,000 to $150,000, which is determined based on experience, geography, and qualifications. The base salary is one component of the total compensation package, which includes a very competitive annual bonus, 401K Match, and other generous benefits.
