The Skywalker Sound Senior Financial Analyst role provides an interesting combination of financial planning and project accounting responsibilities. You will be responsible for the forecasting and budgeting processes while also supporting the accurate accounting of project tracking. This individual will work both independently and closely with the Skywalker Sound and Lucasfilm Finance team and will be in constant communication with our operational and production teams to address their dynamic needs, develop insightful financial analyses to support decision-making, and provide accurate reporting.Key Responsibilities:• Actively own and drive for results with the recurring forecast, Annual Operating Plan, and Long Range Plan, including data entry into TM1, budget reconciliations, and preparation of schedules, presentation slides, and other deliverables for assigned areas• Partner with operational department heads to build and review bottoms up budgets, providing key insights and recommendations as well as detailed analysis of responsible areas for potential savings• Review and analyze financial statements, including the Income Statement and Balance sheet, developing deep insights between forecast and actual results• Partner closely with Lucasfilm to ensure timely delivery of budgets, variance explanations and other financial information• Support the capital asset tracking and reporting process, including preparation of comprehensive capital purchase documentation• Partner with HR and other departments for headcount and capacity reporting• Support implementation and administration of internal TM-1 planning tool; build financial models and develop reports based on the needs of executive management and incoming requests from other stakeholders• Independently reconcile and summarize detailed project data from multiple sources• Track revenue and costs on projects providing cost reports and change orders as needed• Invoice clients for project related work• Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and other close deliverables with the appropriate supporting documentation• Independently provide assistance in resolving inquiries for assigned functional areas and act as a resource for other team members• Identify needs and drive efforts for process improvements• Take on moderately complex to complex special projects and ad-hoc analyses as neededQualifications:• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field• 5+ years’ experience in a broad accounting or finance role• Detail oriented with very strong analytical and strategic thinking skills to look at the bigger picture and identify connections or trends• Ability to multitask, meet multiple overlapping deadlines, and make informed decisions about prioritization• A proactive, self-motivated problem-solver with a strong desire to contribute to the team and Company’s success• Desire to work seamlessly within a strong team in a fast-paced, unpredictable, ambiguous environment• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal• Maturity to handle confidential information• Prior professional experience solving complex issues in creative ways• Experience with major ERP accounting systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.) and cloud-based productivity software (e.g., Google Workspace, Zoom, DocuSign, etc.)• Expert in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets• Experience and proficiency with business planning software (TM1 a plus)• Comfortable with light desktop self-support (set up workstation/monitors, peripherals, initial troubleshooting, etc.)The hiring range for this position in Nicasio, CA (San Francisco Bay Area) is $99,200 - $123,900 per year and the hiring range for Burbank, CA is $90,500 - $113,100 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
