Lume is a 5-year-old fast growing ecommerce deodorant and personal care brand that’s transforming the way that humans do hygiene. We joined forces with Harry’s, another disruptive brand with great people and infrastructure, to accelerate our growth. We are a team of self-starters that roll up our sleeves and get it done. About the Role 


The Head of Creative Operations will work closely with Shannon Klingman, Lume’s Founder and CEO, and Katie Goulet, Lume’s Head of Creative Strategy & Planning, to execute Creative projects and ensure quality and design standards are met. Leading a team whose scope includes graphic design, copywriting, project management, Web, and Video Design, this role ensures that Creative output is aligned with Lume’s brand vision and meets goals for success. The Head of Creative Operations makes data-driven decisions to ensure that the team’s output is disciplined to performance, first. 


This is a highly cross-functional role at Lume, with a significant and direct impact on the business. Lume is a performance-led Creative team that works in sync with peers on Performance Marketing to deliver quality, performing concepts and content. Strong candidates for this role will have extensive experience in the Creative industry, be excited to partner closely with Performance Marketing and the Head of Creative Strategy, and be energized by people management and the opportunity to support individual career development. We seek someone willing to propose, test, and set systems and become the “glue” of the team, who will foster an ambitious creative agenda within Lume, and encourage their team to do the same. 


Core Responsibilities 


  • Implement creative strategy and manage the creative process → Oversee the entire creative process from concept development to execution. Manage creative project budgets and resource allocation to optimize project delivery while maintaining financial objectives.
  • People management → Lead, mentor, and manage a multidisciplinary team of designers, copywriters, and artists to deliver high-quality creative work. 
  • Design direction and quality control → Provide guidance to ensure visual identity is consistent across brand materials and ensure all content meets quality standards; Partner with the Head of Creative Strategy to approve final content. 
  • Ensure creative work supports overall business strategy → Collaborate with marketing and product development 
  • Concept developmenand content creation → generate campaigns, branding initiatives, product design, marketing materials, etc.. Create copy and visuals as needed. 


This role does require intermittent domestic travel (at least once per quarter). 


Experience and Qualifications 


  • Excited to work directly with a Founder who has a strong, established Creative vision and is the face of Lume. Experience in-house and/or at start-ups, managing projects and teams. 
  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Fine Arts, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (8+ years) in a creative leadership role, preferably in a fast-paced technology, Retail, or innovation-focused environment. Retail experience preferred. 
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide creative professionals.
  • Strong project manager, experienced with budget oversight, process and procedure across various creative channels. 
  • Strong portfolio showcasing creative projects across multiple mediums and industries.
  • Familiar with and history of fluency in tools for executing creative work: Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Stager, InDesign, and Photoshop, Klaybio email builder (or email builder equivalent). 
  • Experience working in digital marketing and creating Facebook Ads, Google Ads and website graphics in a framework that supports DTC-first, performance-led creative decisions. 
  • Experience with HTML email development a plus
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate creative concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Detail-oriented with a strong eye for design and quality control.
  • Ability to adapt to change and work in a dynamic, collaborative environment. You can see around corners and pair every problem with at least one idea of what to do about it. You’re flexible, approach problems with curiosity, and think being kind is a superpower.


This role can be done remotely, however there may be location constraints based on where Harry's is registered and able to employ individuals. We can’t quantify all of the intangible things we think you’ll love about working at Harry’s, like the exciting challenges we tackle, the smart and humble team you’ll get to work with, and our supportive and inclusive culture. That said, our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size and industry, and are one part of our total rewards package, which also includes a comprehensive set of benefits and our equity program. The base salary hiring range for this position is $180,000-$195,000, but the final compensation offer will ultimately be based on the candidate’s location, skill level and experience.
