Estimator: This is where you come in.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing accurate and complete estimates for projects while effectively collaborating with various stakeholders. This role requires a strong understanding of trade means and methods, as well as the ability to convey the narrative behind each estimate.
Top deliverables in the first year to be a hero:
Accurate & Complete Estimate Development
- Deliver detailed estimates that fully capture the project's scope.
- Thoroughly review plans, specifications, and relevant documents to ensure precision and completeness.
- Conduct site visits as needed to gather critical data and assess project requirements.
Effective Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather insights for accurate estimates.
- Maintain clear communication with team members and clients to ensure everyone is aligned on expectations.
- Confidently present estimates to stakeholders and address any questions or concerns.
Develop & Apply Business Knowledge
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to enhance estimating practices.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering solutions through strong business acumen.
- Contribute to improving estimating methodologies and tools.
Proficiency in the Estimating Process
- Utilize advanced estimating software and tools to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and industry standards throughout the estimating process.
- Participate in continuous learning to enhance your estimating skills and expertise.
Deep Understanding of Trade Means & Methods
- Build a strong understanding of construction trades, techniques, and best practices to improve estimate accuracy.
- Collaborate with trade professionals to ensure estimates reflect real costs and timelines.
- Identify potential risks in trades and incorporate them into your estimates.
“Tell the Story” Behind the Estimate
- Clearly explain the rationale behind each estimate, offering context and justification for cost projections.
- Create comprehensive reports that not only present numbers but also explain the assumptions and methodologies used.
- Use storytelling techniques to effectively communicate complex information, ensuring stakeholder understanding and buy-in.
The Estimator role reports directly to Jeff Phillips, Director of Estimating, and is part of a collaborative team involved in diverse projects and initiatives that drive the growth of our business. This high-visibility position engages with various departments and stakeholders at all levels across the organization.

Compensation: $78,000 to $90,000 Annually
