About this Opportunity
As a Procurement Agent at Machinery Partner, you’ll play a central role in our global procurement strategy. Your mission: build and manage supplier relationships, source critical equipment, and ensure our marketplace has the right inventory to drive growth. You’ll travel across the USA and internationally to find and secure high-value equipment, adjusting your negotiation style to fit local business cultures. This is a high-impact role for a strategic negotiator who thrives on building partnerships and meeting ambitious goals.
Responsibilities
Global Supplier Sourcing & Relationship Management
Develop and maintain a network of trusted suppliers across aggregates, concrete, wood waste, and construction equipment, both in the USA and internationally.
Travel domestically and globally to identify and secure equipment, tailoring negotiation tactics to align with diverse business practices and cultures.
Act as the main point of contact for suppliers, establishing strong, reliable, and long-term partnerships.
Negotiation & Contract Management
Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules to achieve the best value for Machinery Partner and our clients.
Manage and maintain supplier contracts, ensuring compliance with agreed terms and optimizing renewals to benefit both Machinery Partner and our customers.
Conduct regular competitive analysis to benchmark supplier pricing and terms, ensuring our marketplace remains highly competitive.
Inventory & Demand Planning
Collaborate with sales and inventory teams to forecast demand and ensure equipment availability aligns with projected customer needs.
Monitor inventory levels, lead times, and supplier performance, making proactive adjustments to avoid shortages or surpluses.
Use data insights to make procurement decisions that optimize inventory levels and reduce lead times.
Data Management & Process Improvement
Track procurement-related data, including supplier performance, costs, and inventory metrics, ensuring accuracy and visibility.
Identify and implement process improvements that streamline procurement operations and enhance scalability.
Ensure data is accurately entered and up-to-date in procurement software, ERP systems, and tracking tools.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with sales, logistics, finance, and customer support teams to align procurement activities with business goals and customer needs.
Keep internal stakeholders informed of procurement status, supplier performance, and inventory forecasts.
Qualifications:
Procurement Experience: 3+ years as a procurement agent or buyer, with experience in sourcing heavy industrial equipment or capital goods.
Negotiation Skills: Proven track record in negotiating terms and managing productive supplier relationships, particularly in aggregates, concrete, wood waste, or construction.
Global Market Knowledge: Familiarity with global suppliers and a keen understanding of diverse business practices and negotiation styles.
Data-Driven Decision Making: Skilled in using data to inform forecasting, demand planning, and procurement strategies.
Organizational Skills: Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple supplier relationships and purchase orders.
Tech Savvy: Proficiency with procurement software, ERP systems, and tracking tools.
