Intern, Software Engineer

Madison Energy Infrastructure (“MEI”) believes in the power of clean energy infrastructure and has quickly emerged as a preeminent developer, investor, asset owner, and operator of distributed generation. This role represents a critical next step in MEI’s evolution toward offering direct, end-to-end services to Fortune 500 corporates, public entities, nonprofits, and other private customers alike.
What You’ll Be Doing:- Collaborate with Digital Director and cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and support software needs
- Identify and support the implementation of internal software improvements
- Track and monitor the performance of implementations, providing insights and recommendations for optimization and continuous improvement
- Build and explore software proof-of-concepts and prototypes
- Recommend strategic investments in data and AI
What We Are Looking For:- Rising undergraduate Junior or Senior or enrolled in graduate degree program.
- Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- Creative problem solver.
- Interest in the solar industry.
- Interest in working in a team environment and learning about the energy industry with real-life work experience.
- Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence and generative AI
- Highly energetic and willing to learn new tasks quickly.
- Hands-on, with careful attention to detail
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Hard-working and able to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Deadline oriented.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills to build strong interpersonal relationships.
Location & Hours: This is a hybrid intern role that is based in our Charlottesville, VA or Vienna, VA (Washington, DC) or New York City office, with a required 40-hours per week; 4 days in office and 1 day remote.
