Key Responsibilities:

• Review estimates for damage equipment to determine the actual magnitude and cost of repairs. Adjusts, approves, or declines equipment repair estimates up to a set maximum value. Documents and escalates the estimates exceeding the maximum value.
• Inspects the equipment, monitors and ensures repairs are completed in a timely manner according to Federal regulations and FMCSA standards.
• Timely updates the status of the equipment in MSC systems (e.g. LINK)
• Creates and updates reports with the status of equipment and repair costs.
• Collects supporting documents for 3rd party rebills for damaged equipment.
• Creates 3rd party invoices for damaged equipment. Ensures all damages are accurately rebilled.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the manager.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma
• General knowledge of ocean shipping and equipment
• Minimum 1 year experience on maintenance & repair, including: reefers, gen sets, equipment etc.

Preferred education and experience

• Bachelor's degree in logistics or closely related field or equivalent experience

Required certifications and licenses

• Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record

Physical Demands & work conditions

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time
• Some travel and field work will be required locally in Chicago or in surrounding Midwest Region at depots, rail yards, etc.
• Occasional long-term standing, walking on uneven ground, indoors and outdoors, in varying climate conditions etc.
• Ability to wear the proper PPE while visiting depots, rail yards, etc.
