Summary of Job Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain and make improvements to facilities on campus. Assist various trade shops in Facilities Management with general maintenance work. Assigned tasks may include work rotations in the following areas: moving, plumbing, carpentry, painting, electrical, HVAC, and Central Plant.
Minimum Education Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum Experience and Skill Requirements
- One-year experience in basic maintenance or trades, including use of common tools and equipment, or two years of vocational training.
- General knowledge of skill trades such as carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical, and/or HVAC.
- Must possess memory for oral and written directions.
- Must be able to follow instructions and carry out tasks assigned.
- Knowledge of safe working procedures.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and meet the requirements to operate a university vehicle

This position will be required to work to provide critical services during University holidays, closures, and other emergencies, as needed. Critical services refer to the units that ensure the continuation of key operations and services that directly relate to the security, safety, and/or physical operation of the University (including services to students). Critical services employees will be required to report to work unless their supervisor advises otherwise.
Hourly Rate $11.20 (Additional pay dependent upon qualifications) Work Hours
- Shift work – 40 hours per week
- Occasional overtime may be required
Physical Demands
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Working in extremely hot and cold weather
- Must be able to climb ladders and work off of scaffolding
- Must be 18 years or older
