Job Summary: Performs general maintenance of company property with limited supervision. Maintenance of grounds to include: cut lawns, trims around walks, flower beds and walls. Plants, waters, and prunes shrubs and trees. Cleans out drainage ditches and culvers. Paints and repairs fences, gates, walks and outside building structures.
Description of Job Duties - Essential Functions:
1) Cuts and maintains lawn and/or grass areas, using commercial mowers.
2) Trims and edges around walk, flower beds, and wall using commercial trimmers and edges.
3) Water and maintains all landscape.
4) Prunes shrubs, and trees, using commercial pruners and chainsaws and remove damaged limbs, leaves, and twigs from property.
5) Sprays lawn, shrubs, and trees with fertilizer, herbicides, and insecticides using hand or automatic sprayer.
6) Rakes and bags leaves.
7) Cleans grounds with commercial backpack blower and removes litter and debris.
8) Performs de-icing program, on walkways, when needed.
9) Plants grass, flowers, trees, and shrubs, using proper tools.
10) Performs minor repairs/paints on fences, gates, walks, etc.
11) Maintains drainage ditches and culverts, using tractor or skid steer.
12) Performs maintenance and repairs on all equipment.
13) Maintains tools and vehicle in good working condition.
14) Rely on guidance from Groundskeeper Lead and assistance from supervisor for troubleshooting problems.
15) Maintains open communication with lead, supervisor, co-workers and others outside the department.
16) Is consistently at work and on time.
17) Observe all safety regulations; participate in safety training; report all unsafe conditions to the appropriate company personnel.
18) Adhere to Company policies including but not limited to the Attendance Guideline, Freedom from Harassment and Employee Discount Guideline.
Min Requirements:
1) 1-2 years experience in related field preferred.
2) Read and write English, preferred.
3) Good communication skills and ability to promote teamwork.
4) Ability to follow detailed instructions.
5) Must be flexible by adjusting to changing priorities.
6) Highly motivated, self-starter.
7) Dependable, reliable, and well organized.
8) Ability to meet insurance company driving requirements on an ongoing basis.
