The Maintenance Mechanic installs, repairs, erects, dismantles, assembles and maintains all types of plant machinery, equipment, structures, and electrical or electronic equipment and the component parts. This position will include such skills as, mechanical maintenance, carpenter work, plumbing, welding, electrical, small machine tool operation, sheet metal work, and masonry work.

The Maintenance Mechanic will:

• Plan and perform work using complex blueprints, wiring diagrams, shop handbooks, layouts and other specifications (written or verbal) to determine the materials and working procedures needed in the maintenance of plant machinery, equipment, and structures.
• Weld, braze, scrape, solder, cut, etc. various types of metals necessary for maintenance repairs and fabrication of new components and equipment.
• Constructs rigging and scaffolding; move heavy machinery and equipment; lubricate, grease, and oil machinery and equipment when necessary.

The Maintenance Mechanic should have:

• Formal electrical/electronic training skills
• Thorough knowledge of electrical or electronic principles, wiring specification codes, properties of various materials, principles of operation and application of electrical or electronic equipment such as motors, switches, control boards, generators, circuit breakers, electronic inspection units, etc.
• Ability to work a rotating schedule, with weekend and holiday as required.
• Ability to lift up to 40lbs. on a regular basis.

• High School Graduate or GED.
• Journeyman cardholder
