The primary role of the Maintenance Planner is to plan all nonemergency work for maintenance technicians by ensuring detailed job plans are created and the right parts and tools are identified so that the technician can perform the job in the most efficient manner and at the lowest cost.
Job Requirements:
Interpret data, identify problems, and formulate proper decisions.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in fast paced environment.
Ability to express ideas clearly (verbal and written) and ability to work from verbal and written instructions, manuals, diagrams, work orders and specification.
Attention to details and to be organized is required.
Ability to generate and analyze reports, charts, and KPI’s dealing with addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
Ability to develop short term and long tern maintenance plans and monitor the execution of the plans.
Ability to interact with suppliers and other Unilever factories to upgrade equipment/parts and process, helping reduce cost and increase efficiency
Ability to be flexible with job duties, able to work overtime, weekends, and non-standard hours to meet commitments.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and reading prints and drawings.
Job Responsibilities
Ensures tasks required to execute job safely are identified and given top priority in work planning and scheduling.
Works with management to properly prioritize work and ensure proper resource allocation.
Meets daily with the Production Management of their assigned area to communicate equipment needs and to request time needed for equipment repairs to minimize downtime.
Meets daily with Supervisors and Technicians as required to communicate equipment needs and upcoming plans/projects. Conducts daily floor walks as needed to scope jobs and ensure clear communication of work to be performed.
Works with Tool crib, Engineering and Techs to identify, procure spare parts. Maintains a BOM and critical spare list for all equipment. Upon receiving spare parts, removes from packing and verifies that parts are correct before kitting and scheduling job.
Works with Repair Coordinator to ensure all repairable equipment for assigned area is sent out for repair or plans and schedules for repairs to be completed in-house.
Reviews, plans, verifies kitted parts for all recurring PM (preventive maintenance) and PDM (predictive maintenance) activities.
Receives and reviews all incoming non-emergency work orders, work requests and defect tags from the requesting departments of the areas to which he/she is assigned. Ensures the request has the required information and is assigned to the correct department.
Creates detailed job plans for all non-emergency work orders and uses resources to determine scope and most efficient way to accomplish the work. Identifies and obtains materials and prints required to complete the work order. Consults with requester, Maintenance Supervisor, Engineers or Craftsman as needed before scheduling work.
Develops and maintains planner reference systems (library) including a maintenance project list that is updated weekly and file of planned job packages for recurring jobs. Equipment and process specific labor and material information within the library are used to simplify the planning of new jobs.
Communicates with the storeroom to ensure that the kitted materials and parts needed for all scheduled work are staged at the job site or in the kitting area for his/her department. Assists Storeroom with kitting area and ensures that same is clean, organized and well labeled.
Works with cross functional team of Operations, Maintenance Techs, and Engineering to determine PM effectiveness and optimize PM’s to prevent future failures.
Reviews completed work orders and ensures they are filled out completely by the Maintenance Technicians, Maintenance Supervisor, and/or authorized contractors.
Performs post job reviews for all planned work to ensure tasks, times, parts and tools were accurate and makes edits to job plans to ensure continuous improvement of the process.
Closes out work orders once he/she has verified work has been satisfactorily completed.
Assists with RCA activities by providing documentation and data to support the decision-making process.
Works to identify repeat offender
Develops an integrated work schedule for the maintenance area Support Facilitators and Technicians (including PM, PDM, and nonemergency repair work orders)
Responsible for following GXP. This includes but is not limited to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and Good Documentation Practice (GDP).

Experience
Associates degree in a technical field or four years equivalent experience in an industrial maintenance capacity
BS/BA Degree in Industrial Technology/Engineering discipline preferred
Prior experience in a CMMS system(s) is preferred
