Maintenance Specialist – Auto-Bake Oven Specialist

Schedule
2nd Shift – Plant 5
Sunday - Thursday, 2:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m. (other days and hours as needed)
Pay Grade: E3
Pay Scale: $26.92 - $33.05 / hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
Job Summary
  • This position is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting the health of the Auto-Bake equipment (ovens and proofer). Proactively identifies mechanical issues prior to failure. Maintains steam, gas, mechanical, and electrical components. Must be able to access the electronic program to aid in troubleshooting problems or potential problems.
  • Maintains the Auto-Bake equipment and other plant equipment in either the electrical, reliability or mechanical areas of the Apison Plant.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED. Additionally, at least 1 year experience or equivalent combination of Post-High School education and experience (1 year of education = 2 years of experience)
  • Maintains the following but not limited to: Rotating equipment such as compressors, conveyors, blowers, pumps, gearboxes and motors. Steam systems for the pan washers and proofer. Gas systems on the Auto-Bake equipment. Electrical components such as HMI’s, sensors, switches, and e-stops.
  • Provides maintenance support to operational equipment throughout the Apison plant
  • Possess, or the ability to obtain, an LTO, aerial lift, and crane licenses
  • Follows all referenced operating procedures, work instructions, and job aids related to equipment and processes.
  • Assist the planner in creating job plans for assigned equipment
  • Addresses sanitation and safety inspection issues related to assigned equipment as necessary
  • Performs corrective/preventive inspections and maintenance
  • Assists in maintenance changeovers, set-ups, and adjustments
  • Willing to work flexible hours and extended shifts as needed
  • Willing to attend classes and seminars, off shift as needed
  • Assists machine operators with adjustments including troubleshooting problems and training operators on how and when to adjust equipment
  • Develops good working relationships with production partners for assigned work areas
  • Inspects work site after making a repair and pick up all tools and parts and clean up any mess. Alerts supervision if contamination has occurred or further cleaning is needed by the Environmental Services Department
  • At shift change, meets with arriving/departing maintenance personnel to communicate relevant information
  • Inputs and accesses maintenance information in Maximo
  • Keeps workshop and toolbox clean and organized
  • Communicates with management, technicians, and production immediately regarding any downtime, potential downtime, or other situations that may affect their processes
  • Develops and implements incremental improvements to assigned equipment
  • Demonstrates workplace behavior that is consistent with company policies and values
  • Communicates job information to accomplish work tasks
  • Maintains good attendance as defined by company and/or department policy
  • Practices good personal hygiene and maintains a clean work area
  • Exercises personal safety on the job and demonstrates a commitment to the safety of others and our products
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in Industrial Mechanical and/or Electrical Maintenance
  • Experience with steam and/or gas system maintenance
  • Level I or greater certification in Ultrasound and/or Thermography
  • Knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC’s and VFD’s
  • Proficient at analytical troubleshooting
  • Proficient with Maximo
  • Possess Technical School diploma or certification in an applicable course of study
