Provide leadership, supervision, and support to develop and manage a safe and cost-effective maintenance organization to ensure the availability and reliability of plant equipment and facilities.
Apply all required internal and external compliance measures. Ensure safety is maintained and improved consistently.
Coordinates all maintenance activities with Plant and Site management
Manages 3rd party Contractors as required in support of the Facilities and Plant Maintenance. Works with Management, Engineering and the Plants to improve efficiencies and optimize processes as it applies to maintenance.
RESPONSIBILITIES
-
Complete all OSHA required training, correct and report any unsafe conditions as necessary.

Provide leadership and coordinate all activities to ensure the completion of all maintenance and repair activities for all plant and site equipment to include pumps, agitators, boilers, piping and facilities. This includes the management of the Evonik maintenance Staff and 3rd party contractors as necessary. Assist in planning and adhere to the Plant and Site maintenance budget as agreed with Department, Plant and Site Management.

Is responsible for implementing and managing a Preventive, Risk Based and/or Predictive maintenance program per the site’s Maintenance Strategy to ensure reliability of plant equipment using SAP’s PM module in collaboration with Plant and Department Management, and the Mechanical Integrity and Facilities Engineer. Maintain records as necessary for internal use and to meet ISO, PSM, Evonik Policies and Mechanical Integrity requirements. Works with the Mechanical Integrity and Plant Engineers to ensure equipment inspections are scheduled and maintained as required.

Develop and Maintain Procedures for the maintenance of the Plants and facilities, support site wide initiatives for Safety, Culture and Optimization as it applies to maintenance staff.

Maintain the maintenance spares for the site by ensuring materials and equipment are available as needed and ensure inventory is maintained and validated as required by policy and compliance. Ensure procurement practices are followed and invoice processing is completed timely.

Select, train, motivate, and maintain a staff capable of safely and efficiently providing the required maintenance services.

Ability and willingness to support call-in (remotely or on site) 24-hours/7 days a week as needed and within reason – flexibility in full time schedule to support this requirement

Work with Plant/Department Management, the Mechanical Integrity Engineer and the Plant Engineers to support required Plant shutdowns/turnarounds and Capital Project implementations.
REQUIREMENTS
-
Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
-
Technical studies in mechanical and/or electrical controls maintenance
-
Minimum of 15 years of experience in plant and facilities maintenance and demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the above-mentioned tasks.

Preferred experience in Emerson Delta-V systems, SAP, Microsoft applications

Knowledge and experience with OSHA requirements especially on topics related to PSM

Physical mobility and agility preferred and typically required

Requires working in a chemical plant as needed.

Typically resides on site as the job supports a manufacturing plant. The job does allow limited remote work opportunity.

Requires adequate physical strength to perform the essential job tasks (for example, ability to lift 50 lbs. without mechanical assistance).

Sensory faculties needed to safely perform the job duties that allow a person to react to potential or immediate hazardous conditions and to take appropriate action.
