The Maintenance Technician repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment. Performs electrical work in connection with the installation, maintenance repair of electrical systems, equipment, and appliances. Under limited supervision and in compliance with the specifications keeps in operation the manufacturing equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Repairs and provides preventive maintenance to all production equipment and
  • troubleshoots facilities equipment when needed.
  • Responsible of correcting machine problems to minimize downtime.
  • Read diagrams, sketches, blueprints, operation manuals and manufacturing
  • specifications.
  • May operate drill press, grinders, welding equipment and other tools to make
  • repairs.
  • Documentation of the PM’s and work orders in Maximo or applicable quality
  • documents & logbooks.
  • Work together with outside contractor giving service to manufacturing equipment.
  • Installation and startup of new equipment as requested by the supervisor.
  • Assembles and installs any electrical apparatus, control equipment and wiring used in manufacturing area.
  • Will perform other duties of the same responsibility requested by the supervisor.
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned by supervisor/facilitator.
  • Follow current compliance regulations and standards.
  • Comply with all federal regulated programs.
  • Supports ETHICON Production System (EPS) by identifying, evaluating and
  • resolving problems.
  • Understands and adheres to ETHICON Production System (EPS) Principles and Rules.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree in Electronic Technology, Electronics, Industrial Mechanics or related technical field and 2 years of experience in a regulated industry is required; or a Bachelor’s Degree in Electronic Technology, Electronics, Industrial Mechanics, or related technical field.
  • Strong electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic knowledge and troubleshooting skills are preferred.
  • Basic PLC knowledge and ability to read schematics is preferred.
  • Experience in an automated industrial environment preferred.
  • Verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish is required.
  • Electrician License is preferred.
  • PC literacy including MS Office and use of other software and applications is required.
  • MAXIMO knowledge is preferred.
  • Basic Metrology, Basic Statistics, Analytic Troubleshooting (ATS), Technical Writing and Good Documentation Practices are required.
  • Availability to work a 1 st , 2 nd , 3 rd , and 4 th shift. Must be able to work extra hours, at night or on weekends and irregular shift.
