Maintenance Technician I

Overview:

Job Summary Statement:

This position is responsible for repairing equipment as needed within skills expertise. This is an entry level position.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Performs troubleshooting, repair and reactive and preventive maintenance for all equipment and facilities.
Dismantles defective machines/equipment and installs new or repaired parts.
Lays out, assembles, installs and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic/pneumatic equipment.
Practices 5S daily.
Works independently while understanding the need for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees.
Follows all safety policies and procedures
Maintains good housekeeping practices in their work area and all common areas
Exhibits regular, reliable, punctual and predictable attendance
May be required to work mandatory overtime and/or irregular hours to complete assignments and meet business needs.
Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma or equivalency.
Experience: One (1) year of industrial, automotive, or retail maintenance experience; or equivalent years of vocational/technical school.
Mechanical aptitude required.
Able to obtain and maintain forklift certification.
Able to use operate required tools and equipment skillfully and safely
Math skills: Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
Physical Demands: Manufacturing environment. Able to lift up to 50 lbs.; must be able to stand and walk for entire work shifts; able to stoop and bend.
Work environment: Warehouse is hot and humid in summer months, cold in winter months.
Ability to work under pressure.
Able to work weekends and night shift.

Preferred Qualifications:

Electrical knowledge preferred.
Industrial maintenance/plastic product manufacturing experience.
Trade school certification.
