Maintenance Technician I

Overview:
Job Summary Statement:

This position is responsible for repairing equipment as needed within skills expertise. This is an entry level position.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs troubleshooting, repair and reactive and preventive maintenance for all equipment and facilities.
  • Dismantles defective machines/equipment and installs new or repaired parts.
  • Lays out, assembles, installs and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic/pneumatic equipment.
  • Practices 5S daily.
  • Works independently while understanding the need for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees.
  • Follows all safety policies and procedures
  • Maintains good housekeeping practices in their work area and all common areas
  • Exhibits regular, reliable, punctual and predictable attendance
  • May be required to work mandatory overtime and/or irregular hours to complete assignments and meet business needs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalency.
  • Experience: One (1) year of industrial, automotive, or retail maintenance experience; or equivalent years of vocational/technical school.
  • Mechanical aptitude required.
  • Able to obtain and maintain forklift certification.
  • Able to use operate required tools and equipment skillfully and safely
  • Math skills: Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
  • Physical Demands: Manufacturing environment. Able to lift up to 50 lbs.; must be able to stand and walk for entire work shifts; able to stoop and bend.
  • Work environment: Warehouse is hot and humid in summer months, cold in winter months.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Able to work weekends and night shift.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Electrical knowledge preferred.
  • Industrial maintenance/plastic product manufacturing experience.
  • Trade school certification.
