Who we are looking for
The State Street Middleware Application Infrastructure Team supports multiple Managed Data Transport products across the Bank. The successful candidate will provide technical expertise and leadership to the Data Transport Operations Team. The position requires effective communication and technical skills with a willingness to learn and implement best-in-class tools and strategies. The candidate must be willing to design and implement solutions, work on new technology projects and improve the current Data Transport application stack.
What you will be responsible for
As Data Transport Infrastructure Operations Lead Engineer you will
  • Provide leadership and technical expertise for Managed File Transfer (MFT) Application Services for the State Street Corporation within AWS/Azure and on Premises
  • Manage and train Operational personnel.
  • Effectively participate and lead ITIL processes including Incident, Problem, Change, Capacity management.
  • Serve as a client liaison and a point of escalation for internal and external customers.
  • Work with the engineering team on continuous service improvement focusing on automation and service standardization.
  • Initiate and manage vulnerability remediation, patching, upgrades, and hardware life cycle to ensure we remain current with technology solutions and meet client needs.

  • 15+ years of relative IT experience.
  • 8-10 years of experience specific to Middleware Managed File Transfer products.
  • Clear understandings on communication protocols like FTP/SFTP/HTTPS/AS2/PR4.
  • Experience with Self-developed platform or vendor Managed File Transfer products like Axway- Secure Transport, Premier- Spazio/MFX, IBM-Connect Direct.
  • Experience with Configuring end to end setups for ConnectDirect (NDM) and Installations, upgrades, patching and troubleshooting issues.
  • Experience in troubleshooting network connectivity issues.
  • Understanding on Oracle database.
  • Experience with Linux/Windows Operating systems.
  • Experience on MFT application migration process.
  • Experience with scripting and orchestration - Ansible / Python / Shell / Powershell
  • Ability to multitask, manage high-priority initiatives and coordinate the activities with Service Delivery and Engineering teams to completion.
  • Ability to work in a team setting with a diverse group: operations support resources, SSC client services representatives, application and service delivery teams.
  • Experience in handling SSL certificates renewal and troubleshooting certificate issues.
  • Familiarity with observability tools like Dynatrace, Splunk, etc.
  • Analyze application performance, perform turning and ensure high availability & stability of platform.
  • Experience working on Job scheduling tools like Autosys.
  • Must be able to communicate and effectively work with customers, clients, stakeholders, Internal line of business and IT teams.
  • Must be able to convey both technical and non-technical concepts to wide audience.
  • Must have strong sense of urgency and customer service focus.
  • Provide 24/7 Level 3 support for file transfer issues and ensure all business critical files are transmitted within pre-defined SLA’s.
Nice to Have
  • Experience working with Github.
  • Experienced in AWS/Azure public cloud services.
  • ITIL foundation certificate.
Education & Preferred Qualifications
  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent

Salary Range:
$100,000 - $160,000 Annual
The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
