WHAT YOU’LL DO

We think in terms of impact. Here's how you’ll contribute when you join:

• Owning management accounting and monthly reporting, starting with bringing bookkeeping and month end in-house from our external accountants

• Reporting of actual team spend against budgets to understand performance against forecast and help to drive commercial business decisions

• Owning and improving our procurement processes and internal controls

• Being responsible for Accounts Payable and banking, ensuring our suppliers are paid in line with the terms we’ve agreed

• Preparation of materials to facilitate fundraising

• Supporting sales in ensuring we’re on top of accounts receivable and collecting cash

• Supporting our external accountants with processing our monthly payroll and annual accounts

• Helping with any other finance-related activities (it’s a small team so you’ll likely get exposure to lots of different aspects of Finance!)

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

There are a range of experiences and skills that are likely to help you succeed in this role, including:

• An accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent) - you’ll be newly qualified from practice or have gained the recent qualification in house as management accountant

• Some hands-on commercial experience

• Experience with Xero accounting software

• A high degree of professionalism to apply to financial controls

• You're flexible, adaptable, and are able to thrive in a rapidly scaling company

• You are passionate about our mission. "Does it get the world to net-zero carbon faster?" (Expect to ask yourself this question regularly when working at Emitwise.)

WHAT’S “NICE TO HAVE”

• Previous experience with management accounting prep

• Knowledge of SQL or equivalent

• Experience implementing or improving financial controls

• An interest in technology and innovation

• An understanding of how SaaS businesses operate
