The Manager reports to the Building Maintenance Division (BMD) and he is the Lead responsible for the management and maintenance of buildings at the academic zone to ensure building services and facilities are in safe and good working condition to meet University’s educational functions.
Responsibilities:
Lead, supervise and provide guidance to team members in carrying out facilities inspection and assessments to ensure scheduled maintenance works are executed as planned and in accordance with expected standards; corrective maintenance works are followed up promptly to minimize downtime.
Review and enhance work proposals and budget to meet user’s requirements.
Review project and procurement schedule to meet user’s timeline and ensure compliance with procurement guidelines.
Track work progress and project expenditure via routine meetings.
Scrutinize all proposals and expenditure for BMD’s maintenance works and user’s work requests to ensure they are necessary and justified prior to approving these requests.
Lead the identification of improvement works, maintenance needs and cyclical programs for new FY.
Review budget submission by team members before putting up business case to justify budget request.
Requirements:
Degree in Civil/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Building Services, Facilities Management or equivalent from a recognized University.
Good knowledge in building services design, installation and maintenance.
At least 8 years of relevant experience in the building or facilities management industry.
Proficient with Microsoft Office, such as Excel, Words and PowerPoint.
Self-motivated, positive working attitude and customer-oriented.
Good oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Able to work independently and as a team.
