Crystal Cruises has officially relaunched under a reimagined name and vision: Crystal – Exceptional at Sea. We are seeing an experienced Communications Managers based in South Florida to join our growing marketing team.


Job Summary


The Communications Manager will support the Director of Communications & Events in all brand communications efforts, including public relations, corporate communications, influencer management, and event planning. In this role, the Manager will cultivate and maintain positive relations with media contacts, draft press materials, support shipboard events and press trips, product launches and other media events. The Manager will also work closely with the PR agency to plan and execute all activities.


Responsibilities and Accountabilities


  • Apply brand knowledge and marketing strategy to draft press releases, media alerts, social media copy for owned channels, and sales copy.
  • Manage and facilitate press attendance for all media-related events.
  • Provide logistical support for marketing events, press conferences, and media trips.
  • Work closely with the Abercrombie & Kent communications team, for any external opportunities to obtain thought leadership, coverage and reach with relevant stakeholders through PR, social media or speaking opportunities.
  • Partner closely with website, creative and other shared service teams to ensure programs effectively communicate the brand message and provide consumers with an efficient cross-channel experience.
  • Provide editorial results and rankings to internal stakeholders and quantify all public relations efforts and results for executive team on a weekly basis.
  • Conduct consistent competitive analysis and monitor industry trends.
  • Directly manage specific projects and programs, as assigned.
  • Exercise of discretion and independent judgment with respect to all aspect of job functions
  • Position requires imagination, originality, and talent in the marketing field
  • Develop strong relationships with press to maximize the brand exposure (media coverage, online visibility through social media, websites, and other digital tools).
  • Build direct relationships with media influencers/content creators in and outside of the Cruise and Travel industry.
  • Manage external corporate communications, assisting in the production, distribution and pitching of hero features.
  • Serve as point of contact for PR agency, managing weekly status calls and collaborating on projects.

Work Environment


Works in a typical office environment with quiet-to-moderate noise generated by computer printer, fax machine and light traffic. Traveling may be required.


Physical Demands


Requires sitting, standing, walking, bending, and reaching. May require lifting or pushing up to 25 pounds. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office machines such as computers, fax machines, calculators, the telephone, and other office equipment.


Expected Hours of Work


The position is fulltime and frequently requires working additional time outside of normal business hours.


Requirements


Education: bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, or related field preferred


Experience: 7+ years of experience in consumer public relations, marketing, advertising, or corporate communications, hospitality/travel industry experience a plus. In-house experience a plus.


Skills/Qualifications:


  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint programs.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and/or InDesign.
  • Excellent copywriting, editing and proofreading skills.
  • Must have existing relationships with editors across travel and lifestyle publications.
  • Firm understanding of media landscape, influencer marketing, and overall digital trends.
  • Crisis communication experience and ability to operate calmly in high pressure and/or short-deadline situations.
  • Strong understanding of brand management and executing projects to guidelines.
  • Must be highly detailed-oriented with strong organizational and follow-up skills.
  • Team player with a positive attitude who works well cross-functionally.
  • Resourceful, creative self-starter who takes initiative to learn processes and get things done with little supervision.
  • Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment where strategic brand-building efforts are priority – start-up experience a plus.
