Key Responsibilities:
The Advocacy and External Engagement team recognizes that quality tracking, reporting and management of knowledge, evidence, data, information and resources relating to best practice in Advocacy and External Engagement will be essential to achieve its goals. The Manager, Knowledge Management (MKM) reports to the Senior Director Local to Global Advocacy and Impact, and together with the Knowledge Management Specialist (KMS) will develop and operationalise an A&EE Knowledge Management Plan which will provide a 'shared services' portfolio of support for knowledge management across all functional areas of the A&EE Team. The plan will include ongoing management of an engaging and routinely refreshed A&EE ‘front of house’ presence on WV Central and WVI.org, and enhancement/redevelopment of sites for specific interest groups (Campaign, External Engagement, Global Capitals) which will enable coordination, collaboration, and sharing of resources and best practices across teams and geographic entities, building skills and promoting a culture of excellence. Key tasks of the MKM will include comprehensive gathering of information from a wide range of internal stakeholders, undertaking analysis and producing reports on achievements and drafting guidance and best practice communication resources and promoting these to encourage learning. The Manager, Knowledge Management will analyse and report on A&EE outcomes and impact using data drawn from Advocacy Strategic Measures and external engagement and campaign metrics. This analysis will demonstrate the contribution of A&EE to the World Vision Partnership’s overarching strategic goal. The Manager. Knowledge Management will be the line manager for the Knowledge Management Specialist.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and manage an overall plan to meet the Knowledge Management needs of the full Advocacy and External Engagement Team.

Effectively manage the Knowledge Management Unit, providing a 'shared services' portfolio of support for knowledge management across A&EE strategic functions.

Develop an annual work plan to service the knowledge management needs of all teams, and coordinate allocation of resources to meet these needs in a timely and efficient manner.

Set and monitor the workplan of the KM Specialist and support him/her to achieve strong results in their role.
Support systematic collection, documentation, reporting on and sharing of A&EE outcomes and achievements

Support documentation of best practices, achievements and innovative tactics and methodologies in an accessible and easily understandable way for replication and scale up

Support regular review, analysis and reporting on A&EE activity, outcomes and impact drawing on Advocacy Strategic Measures and external engagement and campaign metrics

Package relevant information into different reporting products to ensure an adequate and regular information flow to key internal and external stakeholders
Manage the A&EE ‘front of house’ presence on WV Central and WVI.org, and support interest groups for Campaigns, External Engagement and Partnering

Maintain an up to date, engaging and compelling A&EE presence on WV Central and WVI.org and ensure content and structure is continuously adapted for evolving needs

Routinely refresh content and maintain accessible, user-friendly knowledge repositories, regularly archiving/purging obsolete materials

Manage day to day technical operation of all WV Central content

Coordinate production of a monthly A&EE newsletter

Produce a quarterly Campaign newsletter
Contribute to the development of a culture of learning and improvement within A&EE and the wider advocacy and external engagement community, supporting the adoption, replication and scale up of internal and external best practices

Strengthen the skills and knowledge of advocacy and external engagement practitioners to promote replication and learning.

Manage an annual programme of webinars on priority A&EE topics

Ensure effective access to guidance, tools and resources via the redeveloped A&EE page (and specialist sub-pages) on WV Central
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Bachelors degree in relevant area - development. international relations, social sciences, communication

Qualification/certification in Knowledge Management
-
Capacity to manage process large volumes of information, summarize it and package it for communication with different groups of internal and external stakeholders
-
Strategic, creative, pragmatic and innovative thinking
-
Min 3 years’ experience in relevant field (external engagement, advocacy and/or communications).

A successful track record in coordinating / managing and communicating information in a large and complex environment
-
Strong project management experience with excellent analysis, writing, documenting & editing skills including high competency in Microsoft Excel
-
Experience of working in a complex, international and cross-cultural environment

Ability / experience influencing people to achieve mutually beneficial outcome

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

Competency in Smartsheet management systems would be an advantage

Competency in designing and managing online content using Sharepoint would be an advantage

Practical advocacy and external engagement experience

Good knowledge of monitoring and evaluation methodologies
