Manager, Operations

We're looking for a Manager, Operations (Unstructured Data Processing (UDP)) to help us accomplish our mission to improve lives by learning from the experience of every cancer patient. Here's what you need to know about the role, our team, and why Flatiron Health is the right next step in your career.

What You'll Do

In this role, you'll work with the UDP team, to support our goals to provide real-world data at industry-leading scale and clinical depth. Flatiron’s data products rely on our abstraction processes, which pair advanced technology with expert abstractors - nurses and research professionals - to collect complex clinical insights from a network of practices and hospitals where cancer patients receive care. Through our abstraction processes, we are able to transform unstructured data to structured data at scale. The Manager of UDP Operations has primary accountability for the abstraction forecasting and monitoring processes, and also supports the development of workflows to support our large abstraction team. In this role, you will not only be responsible for ensuring the team delivers this abstracted data at scale, but also supporting key cross-functional relationships with a broad range of functions within Flatiron. In addition, you’ll also:

  • Ensure efficient operations and management of our large abstraction workforce through creation and standardization of abstraction team workflows and processes to ensure the team can deliver timely, high-quality, abstracted data to our customers
  • Work with key stakeholders across UDP and Flatiron, including product managers, clinical experts, and data analysts to translate factors that influence the demand for abstracted data into efficient and effective operational processes
  • Build effective cross functional relationships, advocating for resources and collaboratively identifying technical solutions that promote reliability and sustainability for our abstraction operations team
  • Lead problem-solving discussions with internal stakeholders to ensure teams are collectively making data-driven process and prioritization decisions
  • Manage direct reports on the UDP Operations team, providing feedback, removing roadblocks, and coaching them to achieve team objectives and individual development goals

You’re looking for the opportunity to solve problems that matter, by guiding a team to dig into data to uncover insights. You have a strong operational mindset with the ability to work effectively with others to make improvements that stick. You're excited by the prospect of rolling up your sleeves to tackle meaningful problems each and every day, leveraging the insight of collaborators with deep clinical and technical skills and functions. You’re a kind, passionate and collaborative problem-solver who seeks and gives candid feedback, and values the chance to make an important impact.
