We’re looking for a high-energy, hands-on Revenue Accounting Manager who has experience with billing activities, managing a revenue team, reviewing sales contracts, and managing the proper recognition in accordance with ASC 606. The ideal candidate can think strategically on a process level and also execute in the details. Join our small but hardcore and expanding team to help establish the processes and procedures that will support JumpCloud as we continue to expand.

Supervise and manage a team of 3-4 individuals

Review contracts and modifications to determine appropriate accounting treatment in accordance with ASC 606
-
Partner with sales executives on proposals and advice on revenue accounting implications

Work with the operations and finance teams to operationalize new selling motions with the current system

Resolve all issues that arise from inaccurate orders that would affect revenue recognition.

Work with your team to set new deals and determine the effects of changes on the billing systems

Periodically update fair value assessments for our performance obligations under ASC 606
-
Participate in month-end close activities by ensuring sales transactions are recorded timely and accurately, including reviewing the preparation of account reconciliations for deferred revenue and AR balances, and coordinating reporting with FP&A

Review ARM activity to validate that revenue is recorded correctly on a monthly basis

Prepare monthly revenue flux analysis and prepare miscellaneous revenue adjustments as needed

From time to time write technical accounting or position memos

Effectively communicate with the Sales, Operations, and Finance teams

Maximize the use of NetSuite and other software tools to build and automate processes and drive innovation wherever possible

Participate in annual audits conducted by external auditors

Assist accounting team with various projects and other duties.

BS/BA degree in Accounting and CPA (or CPA in progress)

5+ years progressive Revenue Accounting experience
-
2+ years Revenue Recognition exposure in a SaaS company

2+ years supervisory experience
-
Solid understanding of US GAAP.

Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills (lookups, pivot tables, etc.)

Experience with Netsuite and Salesforce CPQ a plus

Experience working with Advanced Revenue Module in Netsuite a plus

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

Strong analytical skills and ability to problem solve, both from an accounting and system perspective

Self-motivated with the ability to multi-task and work in a dynamic fast-paced environment

Enthusiastic attitude and willingness to jump in and help out as needed

Flexibility to roll with the punches and growing pains of a fast-growing company

Strong desire to mentor, coach, and lead the revenue team while fostering a collaborative work environment
Our ideal candidate possesses leadership capabilities, solid operational and technical accounting background, and works proactively to drive results. This person is a self-starter, flexible, has a high level of integrity and is action and goal-oriented in a fast-paced and rapid-change, team-oriented, collaborative environment.
In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the approximate annual compensation range for this role, depending on individual candidate level and experience is $120,000 to $140,000.

JumpCloud is committed to being Remote First, meaning that you are able to work remotely within the country noted in the Job Description. For US Roles: All roles posted in United States locations do require that you be located within one of the 50 U.S. States. Our Headquarters is in the Denver/Boulder, CO area but as a remote company, you are able to work remotely anywhere in the U.S. If you would like to spend time in our offices in the Denver/Boulder area, you are welcome to do that as well.
