The Role & The Team
The Manager, SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting will play a key role in the preparation of quarterly and annual external financial reporting to the SEC, quarterly earnings release and supplemental packages, other regulatory reporting and technical accounting research, implementation, and disclosures. This is a critical role that will further build out a best-in-class external reporting function. This role will offer senior leadership exposure and the opportunity to drive long-term growth for our customers and shareholders. This role reports to the Director, SEC reporting and Technical Accounting.
The candidate must have a demonstrated record of experience in SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting as well as the ability to effectively multi-task, prioritize work, demonstrate accountability, and meet established deadlines.
Key Responsibilities

Preparation of the Company's Securities Exchange Act filings including Forms 10-K and 10-Q, Proxy Statement, other Securities Act filings and press releases (external financial filings)

Assist in preparation of the Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Statement of Cash Flows, Statement of Stockholders’ Equity, and other financial disclosure requirements with such filings, as well as the quarterly disclosure checklists

Coordination with the external auditors to provide audit/review deliverables and facilitate review of financial statements and other applicable SEC reporting, including addressing review comments

Assist investor relations with the preparation of earnings and related matters, ensure consistency in external reporting, communications and timeliness

As needed, assist with purchase accounting for acquisitions, including working with third-party valuation specialists with respect to the determination and allocation of purchase price and treatment of unique transaction matters.

Assist in the research, analysis, interpretation, and documentation of various technical accounting issues, new accounting pronouncements, and accounting alternatives within the GAAP framework

Maintain, update records and complete journal entries, account reconciliations and support schedules for assigned areas of accounting, including, but not limited to equity, stock-based compensation expense, goodwill, intangible assets and contingent consideration

Participate in preparation of monthly and quarterly close items as assigned

Collaborate with accounting to ensure appropriate implementation of and compliance with U.S. GAAP, company policies, procedures, and conventions

Actively monitor and research FASB, SEC, PCAOB and other regulatory agency rulemaking and evaluate timing and impact of new rules and standards

Manage the adoption of new accounting standards, including assisting in detailed implementation plans, engaging stakeholders, defining system change requirements, revising policies and procedures, satisfying auditor requirements and change management with impacted personnel and departments

Assist in the preparation of presentations to the Audit Committee, Disclosure Committee, Board of Directors and Senior Management

Assist in maintaining compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements in areas of responsibility; evaluate and ensure optimal design of internal controls over financial reporting

Proactively searching for process improvement opportunities across the financial reporting and technical accounting areas, identifying ways to automate reporting and accounting functions, reducing the time required to prepare materials and file SEC documents

Review XBRL interactive data files for all SEC filings, as appropriate, including Form 10-Q and 10-K filings, in accordance with the SEC filing requirements

Display strong written and interpersonal communication skills while being able to communicate ideas effectively and concisely to all levels of employees
Education and Experience

Bachelor’s or higher degree in Accounting; CPA and Big 4 Public Accounting experience preferred

Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in SEC Reporting and technical accounting

Exceptional ability to interpret, apply and document U.S. GAAP to complex business transactions
-
Life science and manufacturing industries accounting experience a plus

Experience with Workiva a plus

Strategic thinking and leadership experience with an emphasis on relationship management and interacting with all levels within an organization, as well as with external auditors

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing; previous or current SEC disclosure-writing experience required

Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented self-starter; ability to work independently and collaborate to meet deadlines; effectively work with team to expedite completion of critical projects

Proven track record in driving projects and process improvement initiatives

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel and Power Point

Salary Range:
$124,500.00 - $168,500.00
