Manager - Talent Acquisition, Training & Development

This position is forward-thinking, innovative, and focused on the candidate and employee lifecycle at New Era ensuring a positive and rewarding experience for all employees, from hire to exit. This role maintains manages, tracks, and leads the processes required to provide a great employee experience from the moment a candidate applies to a position, through their hiring and onboarding onto their training & development through the years. As a key member of the human resources team, this role helps to identify and recruit top talent, and retain employees.

This role will specialize in the candidate & employee experience, retention, and process improvement. You will play a pivotal role in creating a welcoming and positive environment for our employees while driving continuous education initiatives. This highly visible position will oversee the development and implementation of a comprehensive program focused on enhancing the employee experience from recruitment to exit.

Responsibilities

Talent Acquisition:

  • Talent Branding:
    • Develop, create and maintain New Era’s talent brand from candidates initial point of contact, through interview process to onboarding
    • Build, manage and leverage relationships with talent colleagues
  • Onboarding:
    • Manage employee onboarding process
    • Develop & maintain robust New Hire-Day 1 onboarding program
    • Manage and conduct onboarding training for managers
    • Manage monthly department orientation sessions
    • Collaborate with operations leaders to launch and support the "Buddy" new hire onboarding program in their departments, ensuring compliance with program requirements and identifying areas for improvement
    • Conduct regular meetings with new hires to evaluate their orientation and training experiences, address questions, and resolve concerns, identifying opportunities for process enhancements
    • Act as a supportive point of contact for newly hired employees, ensuring they feel welcomed, valued, and supported throughout their journey at New Era.
  • Recruitment:
    • Support recruitment process and act as backup
    • champion New Era at local meetups/conferences/social get-togethers
    • Presence at job fairs
    • Onsite presence at local schools
      • Maintain relationships with school’s career services
      • partner with curriculums

Talent Development:

  • Training & Development branding:
    • Develop, create and maintain New Era’s T&D branding from onboarding to continuous training & development initiative and opportunities
    • Prepare reports; highlighting engagement trends, turnover rates, process improvement opportunities, and recommending training needs, among other valuable insights.
  • Develop, maintain & host regular trainings:
    • Manager 101 for new managers
    • Anti-harassment
    • Onboarding/offboarding
    • Interviewing 101 for new managers
  • Execute the design, development, evolution, pilot and delivery of new programs
  • Assist to Manage resources and budgets to ensure effective delivery of curriculum, programs and processes

Performance Management:

  • Off boarding: conduct exit interviews with employees leaving the company
  • Actively manage annual performance review process
  • Conduct training associated with review process

General:

  • Keep all sensitive matters confidential
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Consultative approach: excellent communication and influencing skills to communicate effectively and credibly, both verbally and in writing, with audiences at all management levels
  • Strong strategic-thinking skills with an ability to collaborate with team members on best practices
  • Ability to work autonomously and effectively in a fast-paced, complex, and matrixed virtual environment
  • Facility to manage ambiguity across multiple priorities and to know when to escalate issues for final resolution
  • Thrives in a people-oriented environment, and demonstrates a collaborative leadership style at all levels of the organization
  • EQ - exceptional emotional intelligence and empathy
  • Demonstrates agility, strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Experience in a people operations role
  • Full cycle recruitment experience
  • Eagerness to attend meetups and networking events
  • Understanding of HR practices and labor legislation
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Strong command of Microsoft Office skills and ability to produce high-quality deliverables:
    • In Excel, aggregate and analyze operational data to identify insights and trends
    • In PowerPoint, tell a logically structured, succinct, and compelling story tailored to your audience; identify clear and actionable asks
    • In Word, create clear, concise, professional communications and resources
    • In Teams, effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders to maximize efficiency and version control

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management or relevant degree preferred
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in Human Resources, with at least 3 years dedicated to designing onboarding, employee development, retention programs, and process improvement initiatives
  • Proven record of accomplishment in HR roles focused on metrics, demonstrating successful improvements in new programs, employee engagement, and process efficiency.
  • Thrives in a people-oriented environment and demonstrates a collaborative leadership style across all levels of the organization, promoting employee engagement and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated, end-to-end project/program management experience: conception and initiation, planning, execution, performance/monitoring, and project close
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles/previous instructional design experience
  • Experience working in a learning and development organization is beneficial
  • Prior consulting or professional services experience, preferred
