Role SummaryJob DescriptionThis is an on-site position based at our location in Portage, MI.Main Tasks• Initiate, Track and Verify all aspects of the supplier APQP process for purchased parts and inter-company partners• Conduct process releases and production readiness verifications at suppliers as needed• Communicate lessons learned and provide support within the SQD network and support in standardization and continuous improvement of the APQP process for purchased parts• Ensure customer and internal MANN+HUMMEL quality requirements are reflected in the APQP process• Serve as an expert on the APQP tools (including customer specific tools) within the project team• Stop any process or product delivery in case of non-conformity• Responsible for all quality tasks as defined in xSEP and evaluates the content and completion of the APQP tasks within each project phase• Review the customer and internal drawings (AZ, WZ) with the Lead Design Engineer to ensure correct notation of dimensions, special characteristics, and other important specifications are defined on the drawing prior to drawing release• Responsible for conformity of any parts delivered to the customer at each stage of the development phase before SOP and for release of samples before shipment• Coordinate the customer PPAP Package and responsible for obtaining customer PPAP approval• Lead the problem-solving process of customer claims or internal deviations before SOP and support the production location during the launch phase, including the update of quality related documents• Obtain approval from the site production team for the project quality handover documentation as listed in the IPT checklist prior to Gate 6• Present projects to customersYour ProfileEducation:• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or closely related fieldExperience:• Two years of experience as Quality Engineer, Project Engineer, or closely related occupation in the automotive or related manufacturing industryRequired Skills:Two years of experience with:• Interpreting drawings and requirements for ensuring the adherence to Quality parameters• Supporting launch activities at sister plants and supplier locations• Use of tools such as xSEP, Engineering Workflows, CDB, QStat, Apis IQ-FMEA, and SAP• Using APQP procedures, 8D, control plan, capability analysis, MSA, SPC, FMEA, GD&T, and Gage DesignAdditional Requirement:• Up to 40% international and national travel required to various unanticipated locationsPre-employment processing requires drug testing and background checks.
