Salary: $100,000 to 115,000/Annually. The final pay for this position will vary based on geographic location and candidate experience relative to what the company reasonably anticipates for this position.
Summary of Position:
The Manufacturing Engineer is primarily responsible for supporting existing business needs by maintaining existing processes, developing new and improved processes, tooling and manufacturing concepts and identifying cost savings projects. This position reports to the Director of Manufacturing.
Essential Functions and Duties:

Improve manufacturing efficiency, production yields, product quality and consistency through equipment and product design modifications and fabrication

Lead process improvement and waste elimination efforts through application of lean principles and actively participate in continuous improvement events
-
Manage the facilities and facilities technicians
-
Modify, document and improve existing equipment
-
Design and build new equipment and processes for producing medical devices and components.
-
Complete projects, report status, and document lessons learned in and efficient manner
-
Utilize project management tools in establishing timelines, building action item lists, assigning responsibility, completion dates and achieving milestones
-
Finalizes manufacturing methods for medical devices
-
Responsible for process validation
-
Analyzes and documents test results for development and pilot production runs
-
Engineering support which includes vendor contact and auditing specification
-
Develops and tests components and assemblies of manufacturer’s products
-
Responsible for machinery & tooling maintenance and upgrades
-
Responsible for improving manufacturing methods and their transfer into production
-
Works with Quality Control team to generate, update and implement all project related documentation including control plans, work instructions, manufacturing procedures, sample request, process guides and troubleshooting guides
Non-essential Functions and Duties:

Other duties as assigned by a supervisor or manager

Assists in special projects as needed
Minimum Qualifications:
-
Four-year technical degree
-
3+ years Engineering experience
- 3+ years in automation projects
-
Basic understanding of LEAN/Six Sigma/Kaizen/5S
-
Solid mechanical, software and electrical design
-
Experience writing/executing IQ, OQ, IPV, and PQ Protocols
-
Experience with designing and maintaining vision system used in production (i.e. Cognex/Keyence) or Epson robots
-
AutoCAD/Inventor/Fusion, SolidWorks, CREO/PnroE experience
-
Experience with creating equipment electrical schematics under AutoCAD Electrical
-
Experience with a variety of sensor technologies (thermal, optical, position, pressure, flow, etc.)
-
Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office)

Hands on, skilled, demonstrated builder and maintainer of tools

Familiarity working with vendors of parts, engineered solutions, and materials

Knowledgeable in multiple fabrication techniques such as welding, milling, turning, etc

Fluent in mechanical engineering principles, electrical systems, and machine controls
