This engineer will be responsible for leading the operation of Carbon production reactors. The ideal candidate will have a strong record of industrial exposure to lead a project, install reactors, characterize tools, and match key parameters. Will collaborate with equipment engineering team to improve design and development of new reactors. Familiar with the SPC, DOE and Lean Manufacturing methods

Job Responsibilities:

  • The Operations Manufacturing Engineer position is a challenging, exciting, and multifaceted position. As one of the core disciplines, the Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for installing, startup, and process qualification of new 3D-Graphene production and support equipment using the principles of IQ/OQ/PQ.
  • As part of the equipment startup the Manufacturing Engineer is required to redline documents, schematics, procedures, and associated documentation so future installations will benefit.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills are required.
  • During the production floor layout planning phase, the Manufacturing Engineer will develop Value Stream maps to assure maximum production output from the allocated space.
  • The applicant will be asked to provide evidence of their ability to work hands-on on equipment and troubleshoot down to the component level both electrical and mechanical.
  • Will work collaboratively with the Equipment Engineering team to improve design and development of new reactors.
  • Manage operation and maintenance of the Carbon production reactors.
  • Demonstrated ability in the use of SPC, DOE, DFx and Lean Manufacturing methods.
  • Develop database of failure rate and troubleshooting guide
  • Develop PM frequency based on component life and failure rate.
  • Develop and manage spare part list.
  • Write documents and SOP for manufacturing process, implementation, and continuous improvement
  • Support manufacturing and coordination, execution, and operations process development
  • Read Bill of Materials and identify all components
  • Ability to train and certify operators and technicians: Train-the-Trainer
  • Improve equipment uptime and Availability through continuous improvement initiatives
  • Experience with Lean manufacturing (Value Stream) process improvement projects
  • Responsible for Technical presentations

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical, Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering.
  • Minimum 3 years fulfilling the position of Manufacturing Engineer in a high production or manufacturing.
  • Minimum of 1 year of industry experience using LabVIEW or SolidWorks
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience utilizing statistical analysis software (JMP of MiniTab)


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in electrical, Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering
  • Demonstrated proficiency using the methods of 8-D's, 5-Why's and Toshiro charts to affect long term corrective action(s)
  • Knowledge of High temperature Reactors, Inductive heating, and diffusion processing along with ability to troubleshoot, assist repair and maintenance of reactors
  • Knowledge of 6 sigma principles
  • Supported lean manufacturing process improvement projects.
  • Proven track-record of leading technical projects, driving LEAN and 5-S initiatives.
  • Self-motivated, requiring minimum supervision
  • Attention to details, data driven decision maker
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio, AutoCAD)

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to work in US.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 ibs.
  • Position requires the ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Due to the manufacturing environment, applicant must be able to hear, see (small print on labels), and have verbal skills.
  • No physical limitations to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including respirators when required.

The expected base salary range for this position is between $95000-$116000 The level of pay within the range will depend on a variety of job-related factors that may include location, relevant prior experience and/or education, or particular skills and expertise.

This compensation and benefits information is based on Lyten's estimate as of the date of publication and may be modified in the future. We generally do not negotiate on salary once we've made an offer. The level of pay within the range will depend on a variety of job-related factors that may include location, relevant prior experience and/or education, or particular skills and expertise. New hires joining the company tend to be paid within the starting base pay range noted above, with opportunities to increase pay over time based on development of additional skills, competencies, and company-specific knowledge.

In addition to base pay this position is eligible for tier based bonus and equity, healthcare, dental, vision, corporate discounts, paid holidays, PTO and sick time, 401K, employee relocation plan (if applicable)
